Light, spicy, Juicy and smooth: A simple joy can be as satisfying as any complex piece of art, if made on point. Try this easy going Cabernet Franc and try to proove me wrong! — 7 months ago
Wow this is singing. Stunningly deep floral/cherry nose. Mid season cherries that are perfectly ripe and juicy and so clear. Unreal spice and tweed jacket as well. 9.5 nose. Blown away. This drinks so well with 5-6 years on it. Palate is just heaven. Juicy and so decadent with good weight and luscious black cherry and late season red cherry fruit. Sapid and deep. Mineral finish. Outstanding showing. Unreal balance and freshness. It’s a 9.5 right now. Tannins need to smooth out so maybe even a 9.6 with air. — 9 months ago
Great concentration, depth and freshness. Aged in concrete. Approachable now but will age. — a month ago
As good as the last time we had it here.. — 6 months ago
Luxurious red blend with fruit forward cherry, currant and vanilla. Finish not as complex as my favorite Napa Cabs or blends. Enjoyable. — 8 months ago
🚨WINE HACK🚨 If you 1) own a sodastream, but no expensive wine gadgets 2) have a wine which needs to come off sediment but you don’t want to expose to oxygen [eg low/no so2 gamay], try decanting the wine carefully into a clean empty bottle pre-flooded with a few gentle pumps of co2 from your sodastream. Co2 is heavier than air. This works and I swear by it!
The Foillard was beautiful. Licorice, black raspberries, purity and poise that reminds me why I fell in love with Beaujolais in the first place, and affirms what has been an oft-times rocky love affair ever since. — 3 years ago
Thought may be sliding down but not so, nicely balanced and interesting profile great with several dinners. — 3 months ago
My favorite Pernand 1er Cru. Classic nose of dark cherry fruit, brambly berry fruit, wild mint, spearmint, desiccated leaves, sous bois and citrus rind. Very complex and pure. So Fichots. Grippy, gritty, silky and dense with dark cherry fruit and forest floor inner mouth aromas and silky but substantial tannins. Needs air. Wonderful. As this airs the tannins smooth out and the energy increases as does the length.

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of one week. Consistently enjoyable throughout but it seemed to be at its very best around Day 3 through Day 7 (when I enjoyed the last pour). The 2010 pours, a deep garnet color with a near opaque core and showing some slight rim variation; medium+ viscosity and moderate staining of the tears with some sign of sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with tart and ripe notes of cassis, plums, tobacco, Fresno chilis, purple flowers, dry leaves, organic earth and faint baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The fruit is a touch more tart on the palate and there is also a sort of dry leather note that I didn’t get on the nose. The finish is medium+. A mesmerizing, dense wine that certainly has a very long road ahead. Great stuff. Drink now with patience through 2050 (assuming good cellar conditions). — 10 days ago
