Not sure what the “9.99” means in @Delectable Wine ‘s ID of this wine means. This is the “Il Cavaliere” bottling.
Every so often I crave a Ruche, with its unique scents and flavors, heavy on the slightly bitter mountain berries and violet florals. This one’s nice and a good weeknight value pour. — a year ago

Piedmont blend of Barbera (60%), Castagnole Monferrato (30%) and Grignolino (10%). Lovely nose of cherry, licorice, and blackberry. Lots of almost sweet cherry fruit and baking spices on the pallet. Silky tannins and light to medium body. Alcohol only 13.5%. Easy drinker!Probably best with lighter fare and appetizers. — 6 years ago
Menthol like effervescence, herbs, wax, leather and cherry nose. Same on pallet with black dried fruit, Dark malt and cedar. Refreshing acidity and medium tannin integrate it all. Lighter medium body but long finish. — 7 years ago
Wow. Fun, fun fun. Both the bottle and the wine. Really screwed with the drawer settings on my wine fridge though. Cherry and currants but enough tannins to stand up to Ragu or a piece of meat. — 8 years ago
Delicious! A little light. — 8 months ago

This wine was good. Paired well with the middle eastern spread and diverse flavors. — 4 years ago
Love the story: vineyard of the parish priest in Piedmont. Forced to sell by the Catholic Church.
Beautiful note, reminds me a little of Nebbiolo: perfume, recipe red fruit, just wants you to put your nose in the glass. Little heavier on the palate with noticeable acidity and some tannins. — 6 years ago
Something different. Bit hot and very foursquare, but not trying to be anything else. Ideal for a ragout. — 7 years ago
Well balanced acidity with smooth finish. — 8 years ago
Popped and poured a small glass for myself to check on how it was showing. I thought it was super grumpy and backward, so I splash decanted; made a world of difference. The 2021 Riserva pours a ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe, red fruits: raspberries, rose water, pastilles and earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Charming stuff after air. Drink now through 2036…if you can keep your hands off it. — 5 months ago

Red fruit, rose petal, violet, round, juicy, medium bodied. Some pepper as it mellows out. Really good! — a year ago
Crisp, smooth, red fruits, mountain minerals and herbs — 3 years ago
Wine is deep garnet. Smells like violet, decomposed bramble and slate. Immense aroma. Overwhelming. On the palate violet, cherry and strawberry. Elegant hermes leather and a touch of wet slate. Quite delicious. It wants to be a refined Sangiovese but it's more than that. Quite nice. — 4 years ago
I really liked this, quite a surprise! — 6 years ago

How about a little ruchè roulette?! I can assure you this drop is a safe bet! Supple & lithe but balanced, floral notes present think deep violet & semi darkish red fruits/flavors & concentration. Obscure and overlooked Piedmont variety. — 3 days ago
