Tasty but pricey ($35, on sale for $30). Nose is dark fruit, black cherry, Raisin. Lots of cocoa, tobacco, and leather. Full bodied, very tannic, dry with slight balancing acidity to keep it drinkable. Great with food and pleasant on its own if you like beefy oaky wine. — 10 months ago

Dry, big, bold, blackberry, jammy. Tannic all over, and long. Good big grapes. — 3 years ago
Super nerdy producer who revives ancient (and often unnamed, such as in this case) Friuli varieties for production. This was medium + bodied with very slightly cooked red and black fruit, dried herb, smoky charcoal and wet concrete aromas and flavors. Medium tannins and medium-high acid create a structure that shows best with food (grilled duck leg quarters tonight). More substantial that I expected, and while I would have guessed this was Italian had I had it blind, I wouldn’t have had any idea which variety it was. Cool wine for sure - want to try more from this producer. — 4 years ago
NV | I am not thát fond about PX but this Lustau blew me away. Luscious smell, multi layered with dates and currants, very vibrant and elegant. It might be that the combination with an Italian chocolate cake, raspberries and berries contributed to my high appreciation. Happiness ☺️. Fantastic effort, very balanced — 4 years ago

This wine has a burnished look, deep brown. The nose is a treat all on its own. There are aromas of brown sugar, coffee and orange zest which combine for an amazing olfactory experience. The palate is just as joyful, with caramel, raisin and mocha notes. The acidity is fresh and exhilarating. Although the wine is described on the label as “cream,” it does not strike me as creamy. The viscosity is nice, though. It will pair well with dessert, or serve as one by itself. — a year ago
Yang Yang ! Toasted Bitter almonds, hazelnuts, caramels, bitter dark chocolate, cedar but also mineral salty and flowers. Border line brandy that will please bourbons and whiskies drinkers alike…. Complex and fascinating ! Served chill and make sure no one bothers you for a while … A treat for serious #gozones … If you happen to smoke premium cigars, this is next level! — 3 years ago
10 years old 20% alcohol , dry, intense but balanced. toffee, chocolate, old wood— long after taste, drink slightly cooler than room temperature — 2 years ago
Enjoyed this somewhat exotic wine. Recommended by a sommelier at a wine shop. Apparently the grape was assumed extinct for 400 years until it was discovered growing on someone’s property in the 1980s. Taste is akin to a Nebbiolo. Blueberry and blackberry on the nose. Bright berries with balanced acidity and dryness. Would love to have again. — 3 years ago
