Last time I had this wine was a little over two years ago. In that period of time, it has aged nicely. Blueberry and wildflowers on the nose. This bottle was a stand-in to the one that I wanted to try on my 40th birthday that was acting a little bit weird. Nothing weird about this one. Palate of blackberry, black cherry, cassis, blueberry, cinnamon baking spice. A little bit of chocolate, a little bit of leather. Black pepper to the finish. What a nice wine, and from the "bastardized" 2011 vintage to boot! Drink or hold. — 7 years ago
Yes, a little hint of blueberry on the finish. — 8 years ago
After having the ‘16, I went back to my notes on the ‘15 and they mirror exactly what I was writing for the ‘16.
Nose was more floral than jammy, with violets, blackberries, nutmeg and some blueberries. Well balanced and approachable on the palate, with a nice black cherry/blueberry finish. The ‘16 had a bit more complexity with added cedar/birch wood notes too.
The ‘15 and ‘16 are their best wines to date in my opinion, and wonderful values at around $45/bottle. — 8 years ago

Saw some 15 for $29.00! Then realized it was a .375😔🤦🏼♂️
Ridge Wine Dinner. Almost opaque. Flamboyant nose with notes of black cherry, blueberry, light smoke and walnuts. Still primary. Great finish with perfect balance of fruit, structure and acidity. For me this was the best of the 95/05/12 MB lineup. Needs time. — 9 years ago
Mint, vanilla, dried herbs, leather, black tea, and blueberry. Hints of smoke and velvety finish. — 10 years ago
If you have to drink a 2011 Napa Cabernet, this is the one. Overcomes the flimsiness and off-centered taste of many of its peers. Blueberry, suggestive of Alexander Valley cabs, is present in spades, and wonderful, smooth, and satisfying midpalate and finish. — 10 years ago
2011 vintage - plum, blueberry, raspberry, nice spice .. — 11 years ago
Dark purple with a magenta rim. Staining color. Opens up with several hours of air. Smoked meat, blueberry, and sea breeze. Bold, bruding dark fruit. Espresso, and mocha too. Savory finish with chewy tannins. Has big time scores, but feels like it is closed at this time. Hmm... perhaps hold for 5+ years. — 6 years ago
Vibrant, inky purple with youthful Aromas of blackberry, blueberry, leather, mocha, earthy violet and an undertone of dried thyme. Full bodied yet Elegant with a very long finish. Lovely wine. Purple Angel is 92% Carmenère and 8% Petite Verdot — 8 years ago
85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc
A little closed up, but that's to be expected from such a young wine built for aging. Air helps to unfold the layers buried within. While 2014 was a cooler year, the weather played well to the style of Sassicaia as its target is 12.5-13% abv every vintage, so the conditions here were less of an issue. The acidity and density are here to last for some time, probably more than you think and should go the distance just fine. Elegant, yet powerful, with pure red currants and cassis, a touch of bright blueberry fruit, with a savory and spicy edge from the Cabernet Franc, then graphite and lavender florals appear, this is a beautiful young and fresh Sassicaia. Rocks and stone on the nose hint at minerality. Elegant and persistent on the medium+ palate, gorgeously pure and distinct with firm medium+ grain tannin. A long, dense, tightly wound finish that is fresh and persistent, entirely to young but with loads of potential. — 9 years ago
Great Cab Franc but definitely needed to chill to fully enjoy... Deep garnet color with bright ruby edge. Powerful aromas of mature and complex fruits -- black currants, raspberry, sweet black plum, and blueberry. Fresh violets and notes of cedar, sandalwood, red clay and fresh mint. A velvety texture with layers of red raspberry, cocoa, jasmine tea, tobacco, and ground black pepper. 2012 is a well-structured and balanced wine, though also needs to breathe.

Wonderful wine . Dark fruit flavors of blueberry, blackberry, notes of coffee and dark chocolate. Rich full bodied wine — 10 years ago
This wine suited my tastes perfectly - a bold fruity nose, a medium sweetness up front, a smooth full body of cherry, blueberry, leather and blackberry to finish. Mild tannins. — 11 years ago
A classic with its soft tannins and smooth blueberry taste. Classic. Love it. — 11 years ago

Blueberry, bloody meat, fig on the nose. Great concentration and length. Tannins does well integrated. Finish is superb. Great stuff maybe missing slight bit of secondary notes. — 7 years ago
The only way to fire up for the Rolling Stones concert at Levi Stadium!!!!!!!!!!!! Pop and pour at the bar($240 deal, had to get it) an inky purple color. On the nose: blueberry, dark cherry, leather, floral. Taste: nice red fruit, black cherry, currents, milk chocolate, ...fine tannins and medium finish. — 7 years ago

Glad I waited! Very smooth inky with hints of blueberry and hint of pepper.
Scrumptious — 8 years ago
Classic California cab. Soft cork. Smooth drinking taste blueberry tannins creep up on you . Just a wonderful wine — 9 years ago
Kind of a shame to open so young - needs 5-10 yrs to come together. Not quite enough acidity to bring fruit into balance. Purple, full bodied, fruit forward wine. Tons drinking blueberry/blackberry with a bit of earth. Still very tasty, especially with an hour or so of air. — 9 years ago
Deep purple color, so glad I waited to try this one, some blueberry, cassis, earth tones, spice, just a fantastic bottle of wine! — 10 years ago
Blueberry red wine. Complex would be great with a steak — 10 years ago
