Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon

Tight tight tight. Lots of tannin. Needs a lot more time.

Heavy plumb on the nose, oak-- almost a slight whiskey taste on the finish. Great!

tobacco and smoked fruit. Would love to put a few of these away for a decade.

balanced and well-integrated tannins within the fruit, forest floor and cedar notes. one of the more elegant Mt Veeder cabs I've tasted in awhile.

A delicious chewy cab of the traditional style. I really enjoyed the wine.

Last time I had this wine was a little over two years ago. In that period of time, it has aged nicely. Blueberry and wildflowers on the nose. This bottle was a stand-in to the one that I wanted to try on my 40th birthday that was acting a little bit weird. Nothing weird about this one. Palate of blackberry, black cherry, cassis, blueberry, cinnamon baking spice. A little bit of chocolate, a little bit of leather. Black pepper to the finish. What a nice wine, and from the "bastardized" 2011 vintage to boot! Drink or hold.

Needed an hour of air, was still opening up when we finished it!
