Stunning, really. Still fresh and fruity, but with impeccable balance. Wish I had more! — 6 months ago
Opened the day before with half the bottle remaining. The 2007 CdR Villages pours a deep purple color with an opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of ripe and desiccated dark brambles, red and purple flowers, open pasture land, olives, some black pepper, leather and organic earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+. This is an impressive wine despite the rather modest designation, especially when you consider it’s nearly 18 years old! Then again, the talent behind this wine should yield a solid wine (Pegau & Cailloux). Drink now though it could easily see its 25th birthday if you must hold one longer. — 4 months ago
Fruit forward, not too full bodied, notes of raspberry and blackberry — 7 months ago

Delicate notes of strawberry and citrus with undercurrent of toasty minerality, Balanced acidity with tasty, crisp finish. Paired nicely with chicken thighs roasted with tarragon and onions. Bubbles fizzle out a bit more quickly than with other sparkling wines, but still tastes great with minimal bubbles. — 3 months ago
Nose: darker Syrah fruit. Bit of sauvage. Lilacs.
Palate: licorice. Good acidity. Pretty acidic.

A rich golden color and medium body, the wine is young, but already showing maturity and refinement. A strong nose of yellow/golden fruit compote or pie filling, peach cobbler I think, with a hint of cinnamon, white grape juice (from concentrate), and maybe some hint of leeks towards the edges. The palate is silky smooth, creamy, with energy though pulsing between the notes of whipped cream, rich yellow fruit spread, but also some mineral dryness to the edges, and a finish of dried apricot and peach. I’d let this age a few years, let that sweetness smooth out, and then relish in its refinement. — 7 days ago
