2012… awesome… check out the region more — 4 months ago
Had the 2016 on Derby Day 2025. Dark, rich fruits. Some chocolate with a hint of leather. Vanilla and caramel from the barrel. Very interesting wine. The artwork on the front label is absolutely fascinating. Had to do the back of the bottle to get it in this app. — 8 months ago
17.5+. Wonderful peppery nose. Good fruit, mature but several years left. M+ length. Classic+ — 9 months ago
Favorite Morlet Pinot Noir from our recent tasting. Delicately balanced 2014 Pinot that has years to mature. Great nose. The fruit is a bit tart cherry and base of blue fruit like blackberry and cassis. No complexity has developed yet but I’ll come back in 2-3 years and expect the subtlety to emerge. — 4 years ago
Chasing my chaotic self-administered pandemic hair chopping with a Gewurtz from Arroyo Seco which seems to me apropos as I imagine the region as wind-swept and tousled. This wine is not so much and that is a good thing. All is in harmony. There is just the right amount of everything and it hits you in order—the lychees are followed by a green lawn leading to the flower garden full of roses and gardenias all spirited along by a nice amount of acid and powered by a prickling tannin. I’m not normally the biggest Gewurtz fan but I’d reach for this a second time. I’d maybe even pair it with a “hard to pair” thing like artichoke. Something about the floral nature of both I think could line up. Is that crazy? Maybe. But this is coming from someone who just used her kitchen scissors to give herself an intentionally asymmetrical haircut. — 5 years ago

So great. Tobacco and herbs, earth. Full-bodied, juicy mouth full of ripe red and dark fruits. Perfect balance. — 3 months ago

Perfect, as expected. — 9 months ago
Apple and citrus mix with red berry suggestions on the nose. Hint of good funk and savory/ meaty quality. Cabbage patch kids and green apple candy on the palate. Yeasty, long prickly finish. Powerful and light; almost reminiscent of Dom. Disgorged 21, base 18. — 5 years ago

Nice and fruity. Medium body with a short finish. Get good notes of fruit and some pepper on the nose — 5 years ago
At first didn’t love; more we drank the moh bedder 🤦♀️ — 6 years ago
Old gold , orange rind colour , quite a lot of bubbles still . Quite mature nose with roasted walnuts , some herbal , porcini , coffee tinged notes , hints of red currant . On the palate this also shows quite a bit of age with roasted nuts , some lightly herbal notes , honey , balanced acidity . A little short and simple on the finish , hints of orange rind and dried rose . This needs to be drunk over the next few years , don’t see this improving . — 3 months ago
Heavy Pinot noir than expected but welcomed on the pallet. Fragrant and enjoyable to the tip of the nose. Full bodied. — 7 months ago
From a 5 liter bottle at Smith & Wollensky for WINE WEEK. What a deal and fun Friday afternoon
This wine had very good bright fruit flavors. Minimum tannins. A touch of acidity that was needed to keep it from being too juicy.
Ultimately quite enjoyable. — 8 months ago
Rich, jammy fruit flavor, smooth and well balanced, hint of spice and a long finish, paired very well with a pork loin with cherry jus. — 10 months ago
