2022 vintage of this reserve Chardonnay. Notes of vanilla, pineapple and lemon. Smooth and easy on the palate. Delicious with pork tenderloin dinner! — 5 months ago
Compared to the 2018 Lancel Creek I opened last year, this was a bit more coiled and shy (and this is already my second check-in with this wine). As a fun side by side, I had a 2019 Arista UV-Diablo Chardonnay open (same winemaker)…not the same vineyard, but the Arista showed more expressive fruit earlier on.
As is typical for this wine, it was faint straw colored in the glass with honeysuckle, sea spray and bright lemon pastry aromatics. Signature nervy acidity is apparent right off the bat without being a detractor. Yellow fruits abound alongside herbs and faint meringue with texture that straddles the middle beautifully. Long finish with mineral notes and nice weight (oak use is balanced).
Followed over two days and it certainly fleshed out and presented more “soft” (in a good way). Healthy decant now or keep tucked away a bit longer. — 10 months ago
Big, juicy, the Cabernet character is there, some minty notes along with the wood. Good length just lacks structure and finesse for a classic Cabernet. — 4 years ago

Even better than the crazy-good 2007, the 2015 La Sangre de Jonata is sheer perfection in a glass and up with the finest Syrahs ever made in California! Checking in as a blend of 97% Syrah and 3% Viognier, aged in barrel, its saturated purple color is followed by out of this world aromatics black raspberries, smoked earth, graphite, game, violets and freshly crushed rock-like minerality. — 5 months ago
Complex flavors of chamomile, melon, white stone fruits with skin contact structure, dry and crisp — 6 months ago
Really rich, deep, dark fruit. — 9 months ago
Light garnet color. Very interesting nose and palate of red fruits, rose petals, dried herbs, black tea, bergamot and sweet baking spices. Hint of eucalyptus on the long, complex and earthy finish. Smooth tannins. Lively, bright and very well balanced. Nice concentration for a light bodied wine. Excellent! — a year ago

Very nice, easy drinking — 8 months ago
Pours like deep yellow extra virgin olive oil, smells like teriyaki glazed grilled pineapple and lemon sesame pound cake, butterscotch crystals, and coconut shavings.
Thick vein of acid keeps this freshy fresh (not at all sloppy).
