Even after a few years of bottle age this is very tannic. And this blend only has smaller part Segrantino! Would benefit from more cellering, for sure. It’s rough but feels very well made. — 3 months ago
Small production, 150 cases, aged 11 months in French oak, 35% new. Met winemaker David Rossi who makes small batches by buying fruit from top vineyards and using a shared winery for crafting his small batch wines. Deep Ruby with a full range of berry aromas with wafts of earthy notes. On the palate blackberry & ripe cherry with oak and subtle spice. Fine tannins, lingering ending with fruit and some dusty spice. Nice now but let’s see if it aged well. I’ll grab a bottle and put it aside. Check back! — a year ago

Needed a few hours of air. Very tart fruit, pepper, earth, sage, outstanding. Feels young despite 11 years. Still one of the best ca wineries. — 4 months ago
Delicious field blend of Grenache 80% Mourvèdre 15% Syrah 5%. Displays ripe red fruits earthy pasture notes and irony meat/leather. (Subtle) happy with the amount of bottle age. Balanced with a long finish. — 3 years ago
Ray Vanderhoff
Blend of primarily Sangiovese (70%) along with equal parts Sagrantino (15%) and Merlot (15%). Medium ruby color with purple highlights and a garnet rim. Aromas of black fruits, dark chocolate, violets, leather, forest floor and dried herbs. Black cherry, cassis and pomegranate flavors with additional hints of tobacco, black licorice and wet soil. Medium earthy/spicy finish and a grainy texture. Some grip and power but nicely balanced. Pleasant rustic quality. Solid value. — 20 days ago
