Pop-and-pour through an aerator. Nose: burned orange. Fresh turned soil. Cranberry. Rose (very subdued). A little more anonymous than I had hoped, but well made - “elegant.” Taste: red fruits (ripe pomegranate), dry tobacco, aromatic wood. Coconut. Bay leaf. Chalk and clay. 90-91. EDIT: A LOT of raspberry comes out with air. Also, a bit of pineapple (?). Point being: tart fruit. — 4 years ago
Smells like apple. Tastes a little bitter (in a good way), like lemon pith. Some mild toasty oak. Tiny bit of almonds. Apple - almost tastes like a unbelievably dry, killer cider. No off tastes, good. Quality. But, a little anonymous. Would really shine in a cocktail. Wish it had a little more brightness and fruit. Waffling between 89 and 90. Will settle on 90, though it is not quite to my taste. EDIT: had another bottle a few months later and was pleased. Again, 89-90. This time, enjoyed the acidity. This may become my go-to. — 4 years ago
Delicious anonymous Pinot, served with verve at Mistral in Redwood Shores. The place is lousy with Google types, but could not spoil the extra tasty offering here. Never heard of Meniketti...will be on the lookout for Round Two. Taste-T — 7 years ago
Liked it. A bit anonymous. Great value. — 8 years ago
looks a little older (as it is).
NOSE: mild mushroom, leaves, pencil, a fruity-and-floral quality I can’t quit pin down, very mild licorice. Oregano. A little crayon/wax. Definitely some home-down European yeastiness, almost Italian rather than French (perhaps not the best way to describe it, but that’s how I think about it). Spice. Red cherry.
TASTE: very subtle, a little anonymous for me. Medium weight. Tea and spices; muted peppercorn. Cedar. Earth. Anise on the finish. Well made, elegant, but forgettable. Might be a little too old. 89. — 4 years ago
Not much of a nose. Taste is a bit of stones and dark cherry and other dark fruits (not bright), a little bit of tannin. Anonymous, but I like it. Medium weight. Quality. May buy again. It is hard to describe but just tastes like pretty quality wine. Air improved significantly. — 4 years ago
This was a pleasant, medium-bodied red with good balance. Anonymous dark fruit aromas and flavors dominated this fresh red blend from southern Germany. Perfect Monday night wine! Blend of Lemberger, Trollinger, Regent, and Schwarzriesling. 10/31/22. — 4 years ago
Smells tight right out of the bottle through an aerator (as you’d expect). Tastes very good! But, anonymous. It tastes like very good high quality wine. — 4 years ago
Puffy clouds float atop alpenglow orange opacity, lacing the barriers with the remains of heraldic coats of arms weathered nearly indistinguishable by time, like the thin anonymous gravestones in ancient churchyards. Orange and tangerine, clementine and thyme, ruby grapefruit, and candied lemon, Froot Loops, green grapes, dragon fruit and kiwi scented. Lovely lime and lemongrass, quince, cardamom pod, chamomile, white pepper dusted pineapple, pomelo, and steely minerality that fractures into micro clove and aniseed while immersed in lemon oils and orange. Really nice offering. Keeps you guessing and offers some interesting taste combos.

NOSE: vinegar, craisin, carob, dried mango?
TASTE: pretty good! Balanced red wine - nice acidity - anonymous red fruits - nice dry herbaceousness. Well worth the $10 I paid on close out. 90! It’s somewhere between 89 and 90, but I do like barbera. — 3 years ago
