After hearing of Arnaldo’s passing today, we decided to have a bottle of the 25th anniversary bottle. This is really a great wine for such a difficult grape…a masterpiece. Dark ruby red with aromas of dark cherry, blueberry, plum, tobacco, and stew fruits. On the bud, it luscious and smooth. The tannins are present, but just right. The finish is long. One of the wines that has made Allegrini famous, vineyard surrounds Villa della Torre. A blend of about 40% Corvina Veronese, 30% Corvinone, 25% Rondinella & 5% Sangiovese, deep Ruby color with aromas of dried berry fruit and pepper spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and black cherry with vanilla, figs and licorice notes, good balance, lively acid with fine chewy tannins. Medium finish ending with fruit, mineral and earthy spice. Nice value. — 4 months ago

We had the 2012 Vintage on 7/12-13/25. With 13 Years of aging, all the tannins have been smoothed out. Tastes of blueberry, plum, leather and spice. Medium to full bodied. Still fruit forward. Very good — 7 months ago

Grown on terraced mountain slopes between 350 and 500 meters.
The soil is Llicorella. Reddish black slate with mica quartz.
49 % Garnacha, 25 % Carinena, 16 % Syrah and 10 % Cabernet Sauvignon.
Dark cherries, blackberries, beautiful black violets, graphite earthiness, black olives and fennel.
Nicely rounded tannins with a layered and long finish.

Very pleasant blend out of Pauillac; 67% Cab Sauv, 25% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 3% Cab Franc work so harmoniously together that delivers an enjoyable medley of red berries and black currant aromas and taste. This particular wine has been aged for 18 months in 75% new wood French barrels, which shows it finesse and precision on the elegant finish and mouthfeel. Unbelievably smooth and noble on the palate.
