Lovely, lively and made me laugh. — 6 months ago
One of my favorite sleeper wines in my portfolio. Nose has lemon pith and flesh and a hint of creaminess. Gorgeous and clear minerals. Smells like a scene in nature. So vivid and like a field. Palate is just so complete with lemon, grapefruit and green apple flavors and a lovely limestone minerality throughout and tons of sap and length. With air the nose has a unique grassy element. Really fresh and perfectly integrated acidity. This is the type of wine restaurants in the usa need by the glass. Of course it would be overpriced but at least it will be great. Really picking up some finesse now with air. This is so well made. Nose is stanky mineral now. Also so saline. Sea breeze. Palate has such grace and a quiet density. Round and fresh. — a year ago
What a drop dead stunningly profound wine. Just so brilliant. Nose is all elite plum, black raspberry, mid season cherries, sour cherries, black cherries and lovely tree bark and a hint of herbals. So complex and so pure. There is a delicacy and elegance to the nose that is stunning. Also some citrus top notes. Palate is at once round and but also has terrific energy from what seems like stem inclusion. So nimble and pure. This has serious structure and the fruit in the palate is sweet but also high toned and cooling and one can tell this is a cool vintage wine. What an epic finish and such refined tannins. This also needs to breathe. And it will improve and wow what a wine. Let’s see where it goes. — a year ago

At a beautiful spot. Nice golden color, fragrant minerals laced nose and tingling texture into long finish. Went nicely with variety of Indian dishes from Rasa for Leila’s one day early dinner with Cindy David. — 4 years ago
Big time raspberry spice cake. Decadent aromas with gorgeous limestone and complicating aromas of pulverized rock dust. Big jelly donut vibes. Palate is just stunning. Young and a bit inverted but huge chewy depth, raspberry intensity, black cherry intensity and gorgeous, virile tannins. Juicy and so explosive with tiny berry fruit intensity that is a knockout. So complex and juicy and obviously young but in 3-4 hours this will get to 9.8. I know it will. Amazing acidity and it’s insane how much it’s changed since barrel last summer. My god it’s so juicy and decadent. The fruit clarity is off the charts. Unreal purity and density and so so so god damn juicy. — 3 months ago

Quite light straw colour . Green apple , lemon rind , white flowers and wet stones . On the palate high acidity balanced with hint of sweetness . Green apple , lime freshness , cool stony notes , good length and balanced alcohol . Simple but effective . Drink now but no rush over the next decade I should imagine . — 2 years ago
Just a brilliant brilliant wine. I cannot believe the value here. Nose is just sick. Deep berry, raspberry, cherry, sour cherry, blueberry, woodshop shavings, violets and other florals and so much more. This has so much stuffing it’s crazy. Extraordinary palate that is at once dense and at once nimble. Unreal sweet fruit and unreal, albeit youthful fruit and astonishing length. Crazy intense and brilliant inner mouth aromas and such complexity. Structure to burn and let’s see where we are in a few hours. Wow. — 4 months ago
The nose shows lemon, lemon peel, chalk, a bit of a creamy, pastry thing, this is a beautiful, inviting mix of scents and flavours. The palate is showing some great acid drive, as expected, lemon curd and a tiny zesty thing, there is width and some grip, it's almost round in the rear, as if some residual sugar was left to bring some balance and fun to this wine. The finish is long, fresh and balanced with delicious lemon curd, some zest and some grip that goes on for a good while. This is not the greatest of german rieslings, but it's good fun. So so intense, clean mineral lines & voluminous on palate-tasted blind my friend thought Chardonnay. 50 shades of apricot, a squeeze of petrol at end of long finish. Enough padding to be also Uber enjoyable. — a year ago
No formal notes. See @Lyle Fass review. Stop overpaying for burgundy, buy this instead… — 3 years ago
At a terrific spot, just gorgeous mature Riesling all around with a particularly lively and vibrant texture. Amazing how these Kabs hold up so well. Perfect with hot pot dinner for MM and Ben visit. — 4 years ago

I adore this wine as there is nothing like it in Germany or the wine world at large. One foot in the Cote de Beaune, one foot in Saulheim and one foot somewhere else. Nose is so giving and intense. Some toasty wood, but minerals blaring underneath, and just gorgeous limestone minerality but what stands out is the absolute purity aromatically and on the palate. Seductive and rich but oh my god the purity is out of this world. So fine, so elegant, and so nimble. The combo of richness/decadence and nimbleness allied also the most filigree one can imagine makes this a knockout. This is just profound. Finish is endless and this is at once delicate and rich. This wine is a contradiction that works. This is so elegant, so delicate and the controlled richness is out of this world. — 3 months ago
