Superb Vosne village vv in an excellent place — 7 years ago
Beautiful violet and rose petal aromatics. Multiple layers of floral notes and red fruits gliding in and out. Once again, touch of iron that made think that the village was from Gevrey, but could only think of two producers who make such elegant GC: Fourrier and Mugneret Gibourg. The floral quality and lack of candy notes left me with the former. Guessed Fourrier GC VV 2014 due to the relatively short finish (fooled by the vintage) but sappy tannins. — 8 years ago
VV 2006. Great stuff!
Very intensive and looong. Some notes of first maturity like leather and earth. But enough strength for a lot of more years. — 9 years ago
18+ 2009. Who could expect this from Clairette? Rich, complex, wonderful mouthfeel, very long. Ranks with Beaucastel Blanc vv and other top White Rhones. — 10 years ago
Amazing CDP 2007 VV Opened in glass big dark fruit balance and yrs of life left. — 10 years ago
Arrived today, open tonight. YES! A hard days work needs a good lively Booj and this it in spades. The entry level cuvée ( not the VV) just chock full of satisfaction. Bags of bright vibrant fruit, plush, lovely crunchy acidity. My idea of the perfect vin de soif. Merci M Descombes. 🍷 — 11 years ago
What a surprise after the '88 VV! — 11 years ago
OK, match made in heaven -- my wife's homemade chocolate pate (RICH) and 2007 Dr. Parce Banyuls "La Coume" in split -- not as memorable on the wine side as the VV bottling, but chocolate pate is great as always (raspberry sauce on top). — 11 years ago
Dry, fresh, citrusy vv; fun wine — 11 years ago
The first audible of the night was this stunning 2015 Hubert Lignier M-S-D 1er VV that John pulled out in between the Rabbit and Beef courses. Full disclosure, I get twitterpated when a bottle of H. Lignier gets opened. There’s just something in the style that’s mesmerizing across the range, from the Passetoutgrain to the Clos de la Roche. These are wines of power and grace. Well fruited but with layers of complexity. John considers this to be the best value of H. Lignier’s offerings. Hard to argue. — 6 years ago

High toned red fruit, some VA and lots of acidity. We decanted it to let it soften up a bit. Second time to drink Thévenet this month. Maximum drinking pleasure! His VV cuvée comes from a parcel with 70+ year old vynes and is aged in old oak barrels (that first belonged to Domaine Romanée-Conti), after a 'cool' (not cold) macération carbonique. — 10 years ago
'06 vintage VV Roussanne, vintage label fell off. Hazelnuts, honey, cara cara orange, tremendous wine — 11 years ago
Great purity, just a bit taut right now. Should resolve nicely. There are some deep, leafy, earthy aromatics. Oak is judged well. This has nice freshness to it. Definitely on the rustic side. Jenna thinks it's "dirty and dusty like licking the floor of a primitive structure." It is very hot to her as well, both nasally and to drink. The wine Polaner calls blood orange on this bottling and Camus' other VV Savigny bottling. He is completely right we both agree. 85 year old vines. A solid value for the cellar. Jenna says the quality of this is like unfiltered Honest Tea to clean and bright Steaz. This is a touch more muddled at the moment with a bit of bitterness but I am confident this will clarify and integrate nicely with time. Old school for purists. Jenna says it's "minty and herbal, fennel or anise." Definitely anise/fennel. Some balsamicky older barrel aromas and also nuttier newer oak aromas, too. Good balance. This really does have some soil aromas to it. A touch hot (alcohol) right but I imagine it will cool down with some time in bottle. — 12 years ago
From magnum. Had it next to the stylistically similar Fourrier Gevrey VV, but this was the better wine for me - it had a little more depth and texture. Started of similarly reductive, but quickly opened up to scents of roses, intense red cherry, and smoky insence. The palate's velvety, mix of red and dark fruits, rich but offers lots of freshness with its crisp acidity. Minerality plays second fiddle at the moment, but is evident in the long spicy finish. I bet this was how it looked like when it was first bottled, so time can only make it better. 1er level for sure!
NB: From WH - This plot is located on the southern side of Griotte-Chambertin alongside the Claude Dugat plot and below the Duroché plot of Griottes-Chambertin. It is quite strange that this vineyard has been classified as village as it’s located so close to the Grand Crus. — 6 years ago

From Mag. Mature... a hint of apple and sherry but not too much. On the palate broad and slightly lush with settled acidity and decent length. Given this is s mag, it's probably worth checking in on these as their time may soon be up, but for drinking right now- very good — 8 years ago

2004 VV. So very drinkable, almost thirst-quenching, very traditional and the way I believe these wines should be made. 10 years is a nice age to enjoy. — 10 years ago
Perfect for a Bourgogne, serious yum factor and gulpability. I wrote in VV since this is a VV but was not labeled as such. — 11 years ago
Vinho Verde Cru! About as good as it gets for me from VV #Portugal, Aromas and flavors of lemons, straw, orange blossom, minerality with clean and ample acidity. # — 11 years ago
11 jean chartron Rully: vv stylish! A modern style, cx bouquet of white pear, touch of iodine and cashew w background oak; really quite new world w tangy fruit,a bit like a very racy lithe Margaret River chard. Nice drink. — 12 years ago

Final vintage of VV. The predominance of wine was Les Clos, which is 1er Cru as of 2018. — 6 years ago
