Beautiful barbera. — 7 years ago
Dried cherry, mushroom, leather, balsamic & floral notes, great acidity. Still fresh & vibrant. The reason for trying this wine was that the Krause family bought this winery for 6 mil euros and then bought the Vietti winery and will incorporate some of the Serafino Vineyards into the Vietti wines in the near future. — 8 years ago

Wow.....this is as good a plain old Nebbiolo gets. Classic tar, leather and prunes.......and what a nose! — 10 years ago

Consider this a collective note on the '67 Barolo vintage...having tasted through about fifteen, most were fading or already past it. Burlotto, Prunotto, and Vietti were all wonderful and G. Rinaldi could legitimately go another decade, but in general, drink 'em if ya got 'em! — 7 years ago
One of the three Kings of Barolo !!!! Bravo again — 8 years ago
2012. Another good moscato - sweet, refreshing but not cloying. Similar to the 2013 Vietti. — 9 years ago
This is the 1982. Takes four hours in the decanter. Brilliantly balanced with tones of earth leather ground dried leaves with complexity and minerality. — 9 years ago

A great showing from the 2001 Asili. Aromatic, intense and sublime. A real pleasure to share and drink this bottle with my mom and dad. My parents introduced me to the wines of Bruno Giacosa (and many other Piedmont greats like Gaja, Vietti etc.) when I was in high school. The first Giacosa wine I remember buying for myself on release was the 1989 Barbaresco Santo Stefano Riserva. It cost the princely sum of $55 a bottle😱which at the time was a splurge that felt borderline reckless...Even today, there is nothing like the wines of the Maestro. 😋❤️ — 6 years ago
Leather dirt piney leafy Oregon walk. Beautiful acidity. — 7 years ago
Traditional-style, floating cap fermentation for 15/20 days. The wine is then matured in French oak for approximately 18 months. Aging 2yrs in btl of following vintage.

Much more Elegant and delicate aroma than vietti. Sense of botti not brq- delicate elegant version of fruit. Very lovely and elegant. Med body, med p acid, more acidic and elegant boddy than vietti, more sour red fruit and raspberry reminder. Smooth, silky, elegant, perfect for glass wine. 20 — 8 years ago
This was showing a gorgeous and intense bouquet of ripe raspberry, cherry, cinnamon and mixed spices with mint, cedar and dark chocolate. On the palate, it was rich, literally packed with dark red fruit, yet remaining vibrant and lively. Licorice, balsamic tones and savory herbs were just a few of the constantly evolving flavors here. The finish was long with staying bitter cherry, dark-dark chocolate and spice tones. This is simply stunning juice — 9 years ago

Loved the Gaja amidst this nice lineup. It was tar and roses. Biggest of the bunch in flavor and the oldest at same time. The Conterno changed a lot in the glass. Started out tasting like it was nearly over the hill. Quickly climbed back to a very enjoyable wine and then dipped down again pretty quickly all within a couple of hours. The Vietti duo was spectacular and even better the next day. Preferred Ravera as it’s taste matched the powerful aromatics whereas the Lazzaritos flavor was a bit subdued in comparison. Nitpicking to be sure. Can’t wait to have these again after some age. — 5 years ago
