Young and very primary. Velvety dark fruit and herbs framed by grippy tannins. Early hints of Verduno green olives, great elegance, impressive length for its level, and what I suspect will age into a lovely texture, but ridiculously young right now. Still - bodes well for the ‘16 vintage. — 5 years ago
Classic Verduno. Floral aromas jump out of the glass, along with herbs, leather and tar. Tart, crunchy red fruits with tight, pulling tannins. A young entry-level Barolo that is still quite young and austere, even on the second night. Powerful yet lean Verduno that requires at least another 5-7 years to show resolution, balance and true harmony. I’m excited for that. — 6 years ago
This is not a Pelaverga but a Dolcetto D'Alba. Had it in Turin with Jerome and Davide. Paired it with Risotto ai Funghi e Tartufi, outstanding fennel au gratin in Torino. Go Piedmont! — 6 years ago
Bright red fruit, light body, white pepper and fierce tannin — 7 years ago

Such light color! Wasn't sure if this was wine at first. Aromatic, juicy, white pepper - just enough tannin to hold it together. — 9 years ago
A really good Barolo from Castello di Verduno. Red ruby, balsamic, spiced, cherry, freshness, a great body — 10 years ago
Cherry, green coffee, alcohol smell, beautiful light ruby red color, acid, cherry, mild musky smoke, acid cuts at the end and sits creating a cold-hot illusion — 5 years ago
Elegant Nebbiolo with bright fruit notes and the signature tannic punch — 6 years ago
Wow! Crisp, bright. Apple and pear. Balanced minerality and acidity. Delightful!! — 8 years ago
Savory berries and cherry, dried roses, thyme, some anise, soft and mellow without much tannins but still pleasantly bright. Love it. From Botta di Vino in Red Hook. — 8 years ago
A fave of mine! — 9 years ago
Fun! Super light body, lots of white pepper and rose. Very easy to drink. — 5 years ago
A tough darker than the Monvigliero — 5 years ago
Surprisingly fruity, strong - yet elegant. Fresh pepper and medium complexity. — 6 years ago
A bit reddish golden color; peach and apple on the move with hint red gooseberry; some tannins. Great surprise for Italian sparkling. — 7 years ago
More evolution than I expected. Still sound but perhaps better a year ago. Barolo Lecinquevigne is a blend of Nebbiolo from five vineyards; Barolo, Verduno, Grinzane Cavour, La Morra and Novello. Sweet strawberries, orange notes, roses, leather, tobacco, and subtle hints of violets and tar. Nice pair with Cari's lasagna. — 7 years ago
Dunno if this is an example of "Italian wine contextual qualitative perception dysmorphia", but jet lagged and starving and after a sunset walk through the vineyards of Verduno, this wine is the FAHCKING SHIZZNIT with some fried snails and tomato Harissa sauce... — 8 years ago
Verduno represent! Needs more time to show what it's going to do but very pleasant right now. On a great developmental arc. — 11 years ago

Love this vineyard. Not many make wine up there in Verduno but when done well it’s terrific. — 4 years ago
