While celebrating my birthday of the same year. Brilliant clarity, slight peach, pear and waxy petrol aromas. Rich palate of the same, at first dry then broadened out to slight sweet richness. Persistent finish with barely a hint of oxidation. Incandescent for the couple hours that we pondered and reveled over this glass of wine! — 8 years ago

Tasted blind. Reddish tawny, translucent and old looking. Awesome nose. Notes of leather saddle, pencil lead, currants, cherry, soil, and some toasted hickory. All guessed 61 Bordeaux. This got better through the night and was at its best in the last glass. — 8 years ago
Slow-oxed for 4 hours.
In phenomenal shape! People guessed left bank or Napa merlot/cab of between 15-25 y.o.a. Still opaque, with a phenomenally aromatic nose of fried T-bone steak, roasted peppers, blackberry compote, and thick farm soil. Still with fine, refreshing tannins and well balanced acidity. A fantastic wine, surely able to hold it's own agains the fabled '47?! — 10 years ago
Dark suspicious color. A bit of carmelized sugar in the nose. Crazy good on the palate . — 11 years ago

From double mag. Such a treat. — 12 years ago
Simply magic. Worth a fist fight and a quick sprint away from the guy holding the bottle. Big producers don't always suck, this is just such an occasion. I am different now — 13 years ago

Oh wow. Super pretty. Roses, dark cherry, some gnarly blue stuff, pretty floral notes. Beautiful. — 7 years ago
