The nose was weirdly muted and indiscernible. Also a bit tight but the finish was full and nice. It’s good but for the price and time in the bottle, it just left me unimpressed — 5 years ago
D6. Young. Very young. Even though it was decanted and frequently agitated, this one didn't come out to play until almost 2 hr after opening. Nose of Bing cherry and mint. Some red clay must. The entry is very acidic. Black cherry hint but Bing cherry backbone. Herbal middle. Started to show terroir-driven notes to the finish. Youthful and tight tannin. LOTS of life ahead. Be in NO HURRY to drink this one. I'd say optimal drinking time 5 to 10 years. — 6 years ago
Started with very subtle fruit and tight tannins surprisingly. After 30 minutes in the decanter the fruit was booming, the tanins settled and it was drinking perfect. Having with a dry aged porterhouse. Yes, burgundy with steak, it’s a thing. — 7 years ago
It was too young and overall very tight even with 5 hours of decanting. I think we opened this at an awkward time in its evolution. — 9 years ago
Tight and needs time. A bit hot — 9 years ago
#AgedWineTuesday
Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.
Full bodied with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, cooked cherries, spices, oak, vanilla, licorice, chocolates, light earth, light vegetables, herbs, tobacco leaf and black pepper.
Medium finish with grippy tannins and raspberries.
This 15 year old, Fifth Growth Bordeaux, is still young and tight. Needs 5 to 10 years in the bottle to mature properly.
I gave it 90 minutes in the decanter, but it probably was not enough.
Robert Parker 96 points. Wine Spectator 92 points.
Showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel. Grippy and rich.
Definitely needs food at this point, like a big piece of steak.
A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot.
13% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

Classic Bordeaux style blend from several estate vineyards. Aged for 19 months in French Oak. Deep Ruby with purple edges, aromas of fresh berry fruits with cedar and spice. On the palate sweet cherry, blackberry and blueberry fruit, with savory oak & cacao notes. Tannins were smooth but tight, with an earthy herb touch on the long finish. Faust wines do not disappoint, even when young. Nice! A Fav! Great Value! — 5 years ago
I liked this better than the others at the party. Extremely closed. I expected that. It was clearly tight. I have hopes. Last year I had a discussion with Olivier Krug who loves this and thinks it’s better than 1996 I am not there, but may well be in 15 years. — 6 years ago
V14. Beautiful leather and cedar nose. Rich plum, currant and spice fruit. Smooth, tight leather finish.

Still tight. Need to open ahead or decant. Aromas of cedar and graphite. Strong red fruit. Delicious with good finish. — 9 years ago
Deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, floral spice and cedar notes, blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon. On the palate flavors of blackberry, plum and black cherry with cacao, tobacco, licorice and spice. Fine grainy tight tannins, well balanced on long finish, ending with fruit, cedar and earthy mineral character. Very nice, will age well but wait a few more years to really enjoy! — 2 years ago
V09. Delicious. Olive and bacon nose. Juicy black currant fruit. Smooth, tight , slightly chalk, mocha, & black pepper finish. Nicely balanced. — 5 years ago
Nice nose after a couple hours, but super, super tight finish that never comes around. Seems like quality is buried in there however. Waiting 10 years for next bottle. Not worth the risk at this point — 7 years ago
Nichole really enjoyed this one! — 7 years ago
1986 vintage with Andy and Jackson. What an absolute treat. Very tight at first. Allowed to rest for two hours and then the beauty showed herself. — 8 years ago
Lovely Mouton still young and needs time to open up. Deep dark red, this iconic Bordeaux blend is rich elegant and tempting. Aromas of black current, chocolate, coffee, and spicy wood, all blend into a full bodied elegant rich wine, with lovely robust round tannins, splendid with layers of fruit and taste. Long chewy rich finish that stays with you almost 30 min after you finish your glass. The wine was still tight and needed time to open up, through a bit of sediments. My score 91, drink to 2024 — 9 years ago
