The noise in this is amazing given its age. Dark plum, mocha, some funk, some wild brambly fruit, a hint of acetone. In the palate this is still rich and has some iodine and dark minerality. Unbelievable given its age. What an incredible testament to Unico. Delicious — 6 months ago

Remarkable how well this held up for nine years… 50% cab sauv, 36% PV, 14% merlot....Smart blending considering the wet end to the vintage – as much acid as possible (this was the second label wine from old vines… Before T.Ruth was born the next year). Classic Glen Manor concentration of flavor, just in a lighter weight package. This was my last bottle and I knew it was on the downward slope. Glad we enjoyed it when we did Dash it was a testament to Jeff white quality in the vineyard and deft touch in the cellar :)  — 4 years ago

This wine is a testament to the “buy the vintage” concept. Back when I couldn’t really afford cellear-able wines, I heard that 2010 was a great vintage for a Bordeaux and bought this at Trader Joe’s. I kept it cellared until now. The wind poured a deep, reddish purple in the glass. I aerated it and let it sit for nearly an hour after that. Although its nose was moderate, the flavors were fantastic. Strawberry, cranberry, other dried fruit. The tannins were intense. With a fairly decent finish. This is all I could hope for from a bottle of Bordeaux. I will probably be revisiting this winery, since it’s so easy through Trader Joe’s. The wine was a perfect accompaniment to the grass fed ribeye steaks we paired it with. Deep dark ruby color. Almost opaque. Great nose. Notes of bing cherries, rhubarb, some dark soil and a little Asian spice. Lots of fruit and power in the mouth. Still young but has shed some roughness to be open for business. Much better than a typical Village wine, a testament to the big 05 vintage. 93+ — 2 years ago

Really extraordinary Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay, drinking at its peak. Has started to take on wonderful secondary character, with lots of honeycomb, hazelnut, and toasty brioche showing on the nose and palate. That makes the wine sound a lot more decadent than it is, though. At its heart, like all of the Tyler Chardonnays, this wine is first and foremost a masterclass in focus and precision. Even at the ripe old age of 6, with its contours slightly softened and its flinty reduction tempered, this wine is still wonderfully, vividly alive, with copious lemony acidity and fruit that still leans more towards tangerine oil and grapefruit. That this is still so piquant and salty and mouthwatering and more-ish after 6 years in the bottle is a real testament to the quality and the substance of these wines. — 5 years ago
