A blend of 77% Cab Sauv, 13% Merlot, 7% Syrah, 3% Petite Sirah & 1% Cab Franc, deep Ruby with aromas of rich ripe berry fruits, cedar and earthy herb spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, black cherry and plum, with cacao, tobacco and oaky notes. Nice balance, soft chewy tannins, long finish ending with creamy vanilla spice and cedar character. Light golden color, restrained nose of yellow fruit maybe even yellow kiwi. Rich and round, ripe yellow apples, some stone, decent acidity. Needs time for tertiary notes that seem like they’d be interesting. Maybe a bit low on acid, although the mineral and reductive note keep it pretty well balanced. — 3 years ago

Terrific rose of pinot noir from Maggie Harrison of Antica Terra. This is not your garden-variety rose: serious skin contact time coupled with her incredible wine-making abilities has produced a really substantive wine. Reminds me a bit of Manfred’s SQN roses (not surprising, I guess, since Maggie worked with Manfred for I believe a decade or so before striking out on her own with what I think is the best winery in the Willamette Valley). Do yourself a favor and try to snag some of this. Terrific juice. — 5 years ago

At La Gazzetta Italian restaurant for the second time. The first wine we tried here last time we didn’t like so we tried a different, more expensive one this time. Much better experience by spending a few more Euros…22.50€ on the wine list but the only charged us 18.50€ because we told them we didn’t like their 18.50€ wine.
