Med body, good length, savoury but not too funky. — 11 years ago
Pale gold color with appealing mango, pineapple, honey and hints of ginger, sweet spice and citrus aromas. On the palate it's medium bodied, and off-dry with a supple, smooth texture and very good acidity. The flavors follow the aromas with spiced sweet lemon joining the party. Clean lingering finish — 12 years ago
4 stars; beautiful creamy palate Butterscotch and flowers on nose — 13 years ago
This is a stunning white showing surprisingly rich evolution: lemon and candied lemon, acacia, honeysuckle, wet stone, sage, green apple, dried apple, white peach, lime, lime zest, fennel and anise. It’s held up very well for six years, with vibrant acidity and rich, creamy texture. Very long finish — 3 years ago
Unbelievable — 4 years ago
Bright green-gold in the glass…lemon, pineapple, yuzu notes with a hint of green grass with lively acidity. Serious weight, nicely dry, touch of bitter grip on the finish. Tablas whites make wonderful dinner companions. Very nice foil for good Greek takeout of pasticcio, simple chicken kebabs, and skordelia. Opah! — 4 years ago
Amazing chocolate blackberry, with hints of leather and smooth mellow background vanilla. For a wine with very little structure and tannin, the powerful combo of black fruit and dark chocolate are just about everything, and it’s terrific at probable peak of 12 years. — 6 years ago
Got while on the club upon release. Popping it in Dec 2019. This beast is beautiful.
Dry gingerbread spice dark cocoa powder and dried cherries.
Tobacco and black cherry, strong tannin grip. Ripping acidity. Bad end stringent with stewed plum skins. — 7 years ago
Finally. This wine takes much longer to show its core beauty than one might expect. Now layered and full of honeyed quince and green olive and hay and herbs. The baby fat is gone, and while this still holds weight on the palate, it's more muscled and taut, less big and sloppy. Very true to it's Rhône heritage. — 8 years ago
Really has held up quite well. You can see the southern Rhone inspiration but the breadth in the mid palate belies it's California qualities. Great example of age worthy CA red. — 11 years ago
2010 -- very nice, a surprise to find in my cellar!! — 11 years ago

One of our favorite central coast vineyards. Just visited for the second time in Feb. Anxiously awaiting my assorted shipment of goodness. — 13 years ago

A tasting of six aged white Rhônes, including 20 and 35-year-old Hermitages vs Chapoutier Saint-Joseph Blancs from Les Granits and a 19-year-old Esprit from Tablas Creek, Beaucastel's sister winery in Paso Robles, as well as one of the first great Viogniers to come out of California, the 2009 Calera Mount Harlan. The Tablas Creek held up well against these heavyweights, coming in second place. — 2 years ago
