Unbalanced - the 15.5% ABV coming through. I feel like earlier bottles were much more of a piece. Transitional phase, or held too long - go with your gut. Not feeling bad this was my last one.

Aug 1st, 2014Amazing chocolate blackberry, with hints of leather and smooth mellow background vanilla. For a wine with very little structure and tannin, the powerful combo of black fruit and dark chocolate are just about everything, and it’s terrific at probable peak of 12 years.

One of my favorite wineries. Their vintage guide says at peak now but maybe I should have opened it last year? Still, a nice expression of varietal and terroir.
