Left over from a friend which was open for a couple of days (but vacuum and chilled). This wine definitely needs more bottle age. Acidity, tannins and fruit are all over the place. But don’t get me wrong, still a fantastic wine, the best is yet to come! — 7 days ago
Super Tuscan Red Blend that includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese. Ruby red color. Aromas and flavors of tart red fruit (sour cherry and cranberry) Hints of baking spices, earth and cocoa. Touch of vanilla on the finish. Medium body and acidity. Smooth finish. Great value. Poured into a decanter about two hours before service; no formal notes. The 2018 Montevertine is a bit of a show-off with bright, flashy ripened cherries, porchini, red flowers, dusty earth and orange peel. Significant structure should allow for a hearty life. The finish is full of class. This has to be the aspiration of every Chianti Classico. — 9 days ago
This was infanticide - absolutely inky & impenetrable color, and shut down nose. I caught a glimpse of the power & depth after several hours, but I opted to hold the bottle for a couple of days… glad I did: drenched in rich black cherry, blackberry, black plum, and secondary notes galore: smoke & white pepper, lilacs & violets, turned soil, cherry cough drop, and so much more. Wave after race, first it was Brunello then it was some intense Aussie Shiraz. Palate is huge, but finely grained tannins. Lacking acidity is really the only facet holding this back. Paired w/leftover roasted lamb over balsamic reduction rice. Impressive @Lyle Fass but I won’t touch this again for at least 5 yrs — 4 days ago
Interesting Tuscan blend of Syrah (50%), Cabernet Franc (35%) and Petite Verdot (15%). Dark (almost purple) color. Aromas and flavors of dark berries/currants with hints of dried herbs, white pepper and a hint of dark chocolate on the medium finish. Lots of mouth watering acidity. Moderate tannins. Solid value. Something a bit different. Thank you for sharing Keith S. — 11 days ago
Nose is open and full on fruit. Palate beautifully balanced and poised, hinting Napa, but more fresh, more juicy and more bite. Mineral and earthy elements starting too emerge.
Start drinking them NOW. And in the next ten years.
Thank you so much for this wine, Mr. Franchetti 🙏🏻 — 10 days ago
