Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Red and black fruits on the nose with cedar, licorice, light vanilla, tobacco and chocolates.
Medium bodied with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with raspberries, strawberries, spices and chocolates.
Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.
This is a very tasty GSM blend from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Elegant and nicely balanced. Tangy and interesting.
Still young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.
Already drinking nicely, even by itself as a sipping wine.
A blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre. Aged in large French oak barrels.
14% alcohol by volume.
91 points.

This is generally regarded as the best example of Shiraz Viognier in Australia but recently I tried a 2015 Serrat Shiraz Viognier which was the equal of Clonakilla if not better. As per previous Delectable notes this bottle had the trademark dried spices, cloves a trace of pepper and dried meat. Barely medium weight and always a joy to drink. My last bottle. — 7 months ago
Pitted dark fruits on the nose. Very smooth and elegant feel with the perfect blend of fruit and earth. — 8 months ago
Used the Durand on the cork - soaked to the edge. Decanted for 2 hours.
This wine had some gaminess. Smooth. Fruit was a bit wild and overpowered by the savory flavors.
Paired well with the chicken skewers and onions. Needed complex flavors in the food to pair well.
Good but quite a bit below the Beaucastel — 8 months ago
A great Gigondas at this price ($55). Not much tannin, but distinct leathery and earthy notes that distinguish it from the mine run. Good rec from Lower Falls. — 10 months ago
You cannot really ever go wrong with a value CDR selected by Kermit Lynch. Well rounded fruit with subtle tannins and balanced acidity. Quaffable all day long. — a year ago

2013 vintage. Nice fill. Excellent cork. No Durand needed. Decanted with some sed and tasted multiple times over the course of two hours. Origin story medium-heavy body now a light-medium body but with zero loss of color intensity. Primary flavors completely evacuated with secondary and tertiary flavors rushing in to fill the nature-abhorred vacuum. Initially, pretty bretty and likely too much for many...especially those not enamored with/used to such. Black olives, garrigue and cracked black pepper throughout mitigated the sweaty saddle and in serious leather (apologies to Frank Zappa) tendencies in the first hour. Overt, bretty notes dissipated after 45 minutes, This particular wine and vintage at the zenith/absolute top of its' particular bell curve and tastes like it can hover there another 5-6 years without drop-off or apology. 10.28.25. — 7 months ago

Blend of Grenache (70%), Syrah (20%) and Mourvèdre (10%). Dark ruby color with a garnet meniscus. Aromas of black berry/cherry fruit, purple flowers, leather, garrigue and dried herbs. Flavors of dried blackberry and red and black cherry fruit, tobacco, black pepper, red and black licorice and a bit of smoked meat. Medium-plus body and finish. Plus acidity, nice structure and nicely smoothed out tannins. Well aged and hitting its peak. Appreciate you opening this one, Ron B! — 8 months ago
This is the most full bodied « rosé » that I’ve had. Beautiful and rich - a wonderful exemplar of the Tavel AOP — a year ago

2023 vintage. Screw cap. Trader Joe’s selection. Have picked up a few bottles of this every year over the last decade just to have as haus wine-esp during the holidaze. This is the best vintage I’ve had. Structure. Fruit. Accessibility. It has rolled at $7.99 a bottle as long as I can remember. Grabbed a bottle without checking the price but assuming it’s still $10 or less. Drinking like it’s a $25 bottle. Picking up more this week. 11.18.28. — 7 months ago
Blend of 70% Grenache, 17% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah & 3% Cinsault, deep Ruby color with aromas of berry fruits, oak and floral spice. On the palate flavors of black cherry and blackberry with oak, herb spice and floral notes. Wine was complex and elegant with fine smooth tannins, long fruit and spicy finish. Very Nice! — 7 months ago

Single favorite wine — 10 months ago
A lovely tarry note initially amongst the red fruits. On the medium weight palate sweet and savoury red fruits. Love CdP from a good year like this one. 70% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre, 10% Cinsault and the remaining 5% split between Muscardin, Counoise and Vaccarese. Completely destemmed and fruit driven. Soft pliant tannins. — a year ago
Good body nice red fruits and herbs. — 6 years ago

Very round full bodied Rhône. Majority Grenache, drinks beautifully now but can age easily another 10 years. Dry, mouthfillling, garigue on nose and palate. — 6 months ago
