Subtle and quiet nose with almost no fruit, savory and spiced notes, cigar wrapper. Palate reveals luscious notes of dried figs and toasted hazelnuts. Touch short on the finish, but a delicious drop of wine regardless — 5 years ago
This captures the style of Saint Préfert quiet well with its sleek profile, freshness and lifted aromatics. This has some serious class for its CDR origin, very pure and elegantly structured. Fresh to overripe black fruit, stones, candied olive, smoke and lavender. There’s a hint of meaty-ness as well. The florals are this wines most intriguing component, coupled with the snap of acid the blend has, tremendous value. 85 GR 15 CI, “la Lionne” in Sorgues, gallets soils, full concrete — 5 years ago
Gooseberry, bramble, violets, hint of sage. This is a full-bodied Merlot. However, the middle picks up a cola note but doesn't really go to a chocolate like the 2010 and 2012 had more of a tendency to do. This one really did not have a ton of acidity nor did it really have a ton of tannin to resolve. There was definitely enough tartrate in the bottle though! I really look for this one to continue aging quite nicely for another 10 to 15 years. But oh man, this one is drinking pretty darn nice right now. — 6 years ago
Tannins still a bit harsh, but already very good drinkability. Cherries and rasberries, some green notes giving freshness. It's quiet elegant and despite 15% alcohol no heavyweight. Looking forward to drink it in 2025. — 3 years ago
Dark crimson tawny. Regal looking. Exotic nose. Notes of bing cherry, raspberries, iron, menthol, roses and a little camphor. Quiet in the mouth at open, gave it 4 hours in the decanter and the structure powered up. Silky wine with amazing perfume. My first taste of the 93 and it’s perhaps the best Vogue Musigny I’ve ever had. Still young in its journey Give it a lot of air if opening now, but it’s easily got a few decades in front of it yet. This is the real deal! — 4 years ago
High fill. Straw gold, noticeably lighter than the 90 Dauvissat Clos. Notes of pit fruit, white soil, white stones, some spice - and with several all hours of air, the honey notes appeared. Started out strong, then went into a funk and was quiet. But returned late in the evening for a solid finish with nice old Chablis fruit and memorable acidity. (Bday dinner 3/13) — 5 years ago
Long Island Teroldego, en magnum. I wish I had 100 more bottles of this wine. — 5 years ago
My first Barbaresco. And quiet amazing wine. Goes well with truffle pizza, tuna tar tare and burrata cheese. — 6 years ago
Big bold blackberry off the bat. Turns to spice and almost a swirling flavor that you can quite pin down. Honestly for this price it's a deal. Has the nature of a 45+ bottle but not quiet the depth. Regardless, grab one. — 7 years ago
So mature and perfect for a quiet cold evening ...notes of cassis and earthiness on the nose and tannins at back of mouth and roof ... — 3 years ago
Pretty quiet nose. Some toasty notes on pallet, not high acid, hint of residual sugar — 4 years ago
Classic Gamay. Eating a bowl of dried plots whilst sitting on a moss-laden log in a quiet forrest. — 5 years ago
Canary gold color. Appropriate color for its age. Quiet nose, quiet in the mouth - even with a few hours of air. Something was not quite right with this bottle as it came across as subdued and light on acidity. It got a little better with air and showed some light aged white burg funk, but not as good as recent bottles. Maybe not well-stored at some point in its life. — 5 years ago
If there is such a thing as wines that can conjure a personal connection irrespective of “greatness,” but a connection of language and dialect, this is one of those wines for me. The same is true of all Ovum wines I’ve tried - quiet wines of place. Voluptuous but not clamorous.
Green herbs and aloe. Ice box spiced lemon meringue pie. Fat and creamy. Minty lemony creme brûlée. — 5 years ago
Summertime with girl with a paper fan, slow and relaxing, a young woman without too much complexity, simpler, not straightforward but like light breeze in summer afternoon. Kinda quiet. — 6 years ago
Heavy dose of lemon curd in a gooseberry reduction! Fresh-cut lime, quince, grapefruit and Meyer lemon. Green apple, Anjou pear, and dill aromas. White grapefruit, lemon, lemon verbena, tangerine, lime and green apple. Amazing Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Why would you drink any other? #JulesTaylor #marlborough #kiwisavblanc #sauvignonblancday #whitewinechick #whitewines #newzealandsauvignonblanc — 7 years ago

Oak Barriques in evidence with vanillin notes also showing plums and tobacco with a dark chocolate note. Quiet dense on the palate with dried cherry, red licorice, and an overall sweetness. A little different to my note of September 2018 where I talk about sweet and sour although that is still there to a degree. A bit weird this one - too famous for what it delivers. In the 2013 Wine Spectator Top 100 this was Wine #1 I will leave last bottle to at least 2024 on its 20th Birthday. — 3 years ago
