Feeling Lucky?
Despite the premox issues plaguing these early 2000s Fèvres, I held on to my 3 bottles for proper aging. My bottles were going to hit their prime drinking window or die trying
DAY1

Grapefruit, citrus and minerals upfront. Sea shells perfectly describes the minerality. Cool and crisp. — 5 years ago
Another terrific showing from the superb Vincent Dauvissat. After an hour decant the wine shows its racy energy, stony minerality, chamomile, oyster shells and its seamless integration of oak and acid. Finishes wonderfully long and with great tension. — 5 years ago
Wow. Rich yet light with loads of acid. Oyster shells and all kinds of white fruit. — 6 years ago
Lemon curd, gardenias, sea shells, sourdough. Lively rounded acidity, medium bodied, juicy-oily texture, lime zest, chalky slightly floral finish. High elevation vines, lighter in texture than vintage is known for, great acid tension, excellent lengthy finish. Phenomenal producer. — 7 years ago
Fresh and vivid on the nose. Lime, lemon, honeyed notes, a slatey core. Some of the 2010 sweetness with a bit of tang. Lovely and light and fresh. With time oyster shells and a refreshing salinity but the heft and punch of meursault. Like great Chablis consommé. So deft and lucid. Wonderful. — 7 years ago
Raspberry, nectarine, unripe white peach, crushed shells. Summer in a bottle. — 5 years ago
I generally try to keep politics or sorrow events off this platform. However, this morning we watched the McCain funeral and were genuinely moved. We should all hope for such a beautiful funeral.
Today, John McCain brought the world one final parting gift. A message of; peace, unity, love, respect and hope for our country. Let’s hope people listen and try to live their lives with a little more of each.
Today, a country grieves the loss of a great American and celebrates the life of a true American hero. We will miss you and your voice in our country’s discourse. Cheers & R.I.P John. You have certainly earned it.
I can’t think of many better bottles than to celebrate his life and his service commit to our country!
Disgorged in Autumn of 2014. 57 wines with the oldest from 2000 to 2008.
On the nose, blood orange, white citrus, orange peel, dry apricot, Mexican papaya, spice, sea spray, sea shells, gray volcanic minerals with grit, citrus blossoms and spring flowers with orange Gerber Daisies.
The body is full, rich and lush. Micro oxygenation, blood orange, tangerine, white citrus, orange peel, dry apricot, yellow peach, Mexican papaya, baguette crust, spice with palate heat, sea spray, sea shells, gritty gray volcanic minerals with citrus blossoms and spring flowers with orange gerber Gaisies. The acidity is perfect. The finish is beautifully long, rich, lush, elegant and goes on and on.

Decanted for 3 hours. Canary gold color. Bright and fresh. Fruit forward nose. Notes of lemon curd, white peach, sea shells, wet river stone and tan spice. Very luscious in the mouth. More fruit than acidity. This went quickly as the team tonight was thirsty. — 4 years ago
Paired with grilled scallops in a creamy cauliflower sauce. The beautiful Nose is expressive and complex and develops constantly in the glass, lemon, menthol, orchard white and yellow fruit, sea shells, honeysuckle. Palate is complex, rich and full, large with a backward acidity that is there nonetheless, slightly austere, just a tad, great finish. Excellent and needs a few years but very Raveneau in style. 92-93
92-93 — 5 years ago
Straw color. Peat, garden hose, sea spray, green apples, sage, iodine, crushed oyster shells. Long, elegant finish. — 5 years ago
A beautiful nose of yellow orchard fruit, honeysuckle and a touch of sea shells and salin texture. The wine is rich, a nice roundness and slightly less crisp than the usual Droin style, but still with enough backbone and acidity to make it harmonious, balanced, classy, elegant and with a lingering delicious finish. Great bottle. 93 pts aisément — 5 years ago
From Domestique 4/13/19 for tagine, but only opened 2013 in garden on 4/27/19. Chlorine smell for J; lemon, thyme, chives, cloves, vanilla. Mouthfeel and long finish of pine. Pretty rich for Muscsdet. Expected salinity. Malted Easter egg shells. — 7 years ago
Gilbert Van Hassel
Clearly a warm vintage. Full bodied, oyster shells, lime, white peach. Excellent. — 3 years ago
