100% Roussanne.
Nose...If I ever had a white that I could tell you was "oily" this is that wine. Caramelized honey, pear, guava and wet clay.
Palate is hazelnut butter, macerated pear, over-ripe apricot. F...this is an amazing bottle, I don't happen across Roussanne like this everyday, or like ever! — 6 years ago
I was given this glass and asked what I think. I thought it was delicious and while I’m no expert nor have I been trained at all which you can easily tell from my posts, I was wowed from the first sip. This wine evolves in your mouth and just continues to impress. Rich beautiful flavors combines to make a lasting impression. Simply a delight. — 6 years ago
Extremely young but having tasted so many vintages of this wine I tell u the flavour The FLAVOUR!!!!!
Great freshness but also tickling with minerality
U can already tell complexity starting to build up
From camomile to violets or wisteria,
Smoked, mushroom and clay,
Orange peel;
Hazelnut and marzipan,
Ginger biscuit
Some how a bit of MoU caramel
Infinite substance ever changing.....
Thanks Antoine Gaita (I can still feel him in the wine)and family — 7 years ago
Coping mechanism for a long week; or celebration for Memorial weekend.
Haven't had this in 2 yrs and it's even more awesome. Can tell it's older; turning an orange/brownish color. Still lots of fruit, and oozing with flavors of smoke, caramel, cola and wet earth. Sexy and seductive. — 7 years ago
2017 Bravo - Imperial Brown Ale
Deep caramel brown with light brown head. Dark nose with caramelized brown sugar, molasses, and honey with a little heat. Can tell it's a a high alcohol level get drunk from just smelling it. A little creamy and syrupy too. Full bodied and long finish. Could easily go with some dessert. — 7 years ago
A socially distanced night catching up with friends while enjoying some fun wines. Posting what I was able to get pics of!
Served blind and decanted for about two hours. You could tell it was starting to shed some fruit as the oak tannin was fairly stiff, while accompanied by dark fruits but also a lot of floral and earthy notes. Fresh potpourri, lavender, ripe blue and black fruits, and a touch of fig to show its age. The ripe profile on the palate had me thinking 2007 vintage and the big structure meant it had to be from one of Napa’s mountain AVAs. There is a streak of graphite/mineral down the palate with added dark fruits, dark cocoa, and grilled plums. Integrated but very powerful at this stage. Thanks @joe leatherwood . — 4 years ago
Could tell from the moment that my nose entered the glass that this was special. Rich and nuanced tones. Delicious. — 5 years ago
A great pomerol on a great vintage, Gazin is Merlot harvested at maturity but not over, great acidity and balance with the tell tale notes of Merlot now emerging. I would say better to wait another 3 to 5 years but this is a really excellent bottle. If you like distinct and not overdone Pomerols, go after this one ! — 6 years ago
Delicious well balanced merlot with dark fruit and spices! Drink this and then tell me you’re not a merlot fan 😏 — 6 years ago
The 2014 Phantom is out! The '14 is proof positive why Phantom is special. The concoction changes each vintage. '14: 42% petite sirah, 34% Zin, 14% cab, 10% merlot; '13: 39% Zin, 38% petite sirah, 23% cab. The merlot softens things up, and you can tell petite sirah is the dominant varietal. Most wouldn't think a few % points matter, but it makes a huge difference. There's a firm, supportive backbone, with ample weight and structure. Great fruit, briary, with baking spice and toasty oak. Awesome. Stock up. — 7 years ago
Just hanging on- you can tell this was a remarkable wine — 7 years ago
The 2nd of 4 Grand Crus from Morey Saint Denis. Colour of deep Ruby - darker than the Lambrays. Quite a rich palate of M+ intensity. Great mouthfeel. At this point I wrote in my notes “ getting to the point of sensory overload. Let me tell you that 2016 is a great vintage for Red Burgundy “. A wonderful Clos de la Roche”. Worth purchasing as it is always better value than the Ponsot Clos de la Roche. — 4 years ago
Wanted to see if my friends who say they prefer new or old world could tell the difference. They actually could.... they loved both. Even though they were the same vintage, Brand was more full bodied and youthful, but did have a hint of age on it. If I didn’t know the two wines we were blind tasting, I would have thought both were old world. — 5 years ago
Big bold beautiful wine - it is still the same - I am not sure it will get any better over time - decanted over 2 hours again - subtle hints of blueberries blackberry and cassis. Massive on the palate with extraordinary fruit extract, but no hard edges, and the vintage’s tell-tale velvety tannins, good acidity and terrific freshness and energy - drink em if you got em — 6 years ago
Tasted at the winery. Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah. Nice aroma, can’t tell much about the taste - too tanic, either young or was opened at the winery a bit too far back. Must have good potential. Will try 2012 and see — 6 years ago
Wine takes a good two hours to open up but has everything from raspberry to herbal notes...just hasn't really settled down and seems to be more on the primary side right now. I am very impressed by this wine, and honestly the QPR on this wine is quite fantastic at $30/bottle. I would have paid $60 or more for this (don't tell Genevieve or TRB). Not a stunner, but definitely way better than your average $30 pinot. — 6 years ago
To me, this wine of all the aged wines had the best entry without a doubt. This wine is made in a very old world and French style, and you can tell it from the start. I was a little worried about this wine, but the cork was in great shape and extracted by an ah-so with no problems. This wine had a very herbal nose, and herbal front. Raspberry front eventually emerged. The middle of this wine was actually quite full bodied. The finish was a little earthy, a little bit of mushroom, and tame oak. The wine was good, and still going after all these years. Look forward to the other bottle soon! — 7 years ago

We drank the 2018 and not the 2012 but I forgot to take a pic like a real delectable noob. Nonetheless this was great. Glad I stashed a few away in the ol vault. Bree crushed a complex PCI today and we felt like opening up something tasty to celebrate and let me tell you, that limerick zin hits different. Jammy yes But also dried fruits and anise, light smoke. Clean finish. — 4 years ago
