My 4th spin with this vintage and it's holding steady, if a little more reserved than it was in youth. The 16s were super open and drinkable young but have added more of what you'd expect in it's youth, more structure, more density, just more serious. Decant if having right away. If you can plan it, splash decant briefly and rebottle it with the cork open for 24 hours. — 3 months ago
A birth year bottle on my 60th with all my best friends to share, just incredible with my birthday pecan pie, pure joy! — 4 months ago
A pleasant surprise. Very aromatic and complex for a relatively young port, solid, with a long aftertaste that went on for minutes. — 4 months ago
A smooth LBV, very drinkable. — 5 months ago
A lovely Colheita tawny port. Perfect for sipping or with cheese, salty snacks, or chocolate puddings/cakes. There are lots of fuit aromas with a nice dried fruit flavour. — 5 months ago
1962 vintage. Decanted and tasted immediately and over the course of two hours. As with all of these older vintage port corks, a Durand is a helpful "suggestion" but a funnel with a fine filtering screen is essential. Wowzers. Plenty grippy on the back end and drinking as if awakened from a nap-guilty as charged. Needs another 15 years to “let it go.” Remarkable complexity. Holy bleep. Thanksgiving 11.23.23. — 6 months ago
Oceanic. Some smoke. Raisin and caramel. More like Madeira! Astounding length. Salty, biting. With almost a peppery bite on the finish. Tongue salivating. Perspiring. This heats up the body. Palate is perfect. Nose falls down a little- but this was from open bottle in enomatic so may not be the wine’s fault. — 3 months ago
Ruby in color with a wide brick rim.
Sweet nose and medium in body with high acidity.
Sweet on the palate with a nice mouth feel.
Showing red and black fruits, tobacco leaf, light earth, brown sugar, Indian spices, peppercorn, herbs and alcohol.
Short finish with Tangy cranberries and honey.
This is not my It is never my favorite port style, but it's very drinkable as a dessert wine.
I enjoyed the nose more than the palate.

Probably past prime. But 'tis the season, so used it for NYTimes recipe Port Toddies. Merry and bright halfway through my second. Looking forward to finishing bottle on New Years Day. — 5 months ago
Nice easy drinking port with fruit forward flavors and a smooth finish. — 3 months ago
I have no words. Friend bought from a yard sale for $8. Has now been open for three weeks in the fridge. Best condition wine I’ve ever had with this amount of age on it. Captivating. Unreal. — 3 months ago
1/24 High marks. Wonderful earthy notes. In the sweet side. it is better oxidizing in the bottle so some of the sugarless subsides. Plenty of caramel, toffee, ripe fruit. Outside of the sweetness which can be cloying a solid 90. — 4 months ago

"this Top class Porto captures the full rich flavors which are the essence of this Founder's Reserve Ruby Porto. Served on its own in a large glass with cheeses or rich chocolate desserts, or as an aperitif chilled or on ice, both provide superb tasting options" — 6 months ago
