Pop and pour at Luce in San Francisco. A majestic dark ruby red color. On the nose: bursting from the glass are beautiful notes of plum, stewed meat, cedar, some black raspberry, smoke, floral. Taste: smooth, rich, juicy wine with dark fruit, worn leather, meaty, bitter chocolate, and a spiced graphite long finish. YUM! A day before fire up for the Kevin Hart show in SF. Cheers! — 2 years ago
On the eye it’s definitely showing some age and sediment. The nose is dusty, leathery, and smokey with blueberry and plum. The pallet is earthy and well integrated upfront. No outliers just beautiful flow: mushroom, game, dark fruit, some vanilla, still bold, low alcohol, medium tannic and round finish.
This bottle and I have history; after ten years of carrying it, babying it, and nurturing it. I decided to pop it open for my forty second nameday. Could have gone several more years, easy, but it was perfect timing for me, and this is why I love wine. Cheers. — 2 years ago
Gerogous right out of the bottle. Fell off significantly after 4 hours of being open.
So pop drink and enjoy! — 7 months ago
1 hour decant (little fine/cloudy sediment). A remarkable dark purplish magenta color. On the nose: tart cherry, creme de cassis, eucalyptus, orange rind, cinnamon. Taste: smooth, soft, rich, juicy wine with cherry/raspberry, leather, herbaceous, graphite, little spiced chocolate espresso and a nice medium plus finish. YUM! Bodes well for the 2015 Scarecrow wine, and I should pop one to check it out. — a year ago
Napa Bordeaux style blend, pop n pour with scents of wet earth and perfectly ripe red fruit. Exquisitely balanced on the palate, soft tannins, medium alcohol… Loved the wine, definitely old world character, but must say there is short finish (a bit disappointing with this caliber of wine to be explicit). Still, great wine. — 6 months ago
Something different - a pear cider from Normandy produced from pear trees estimated to be about 300 years old. Poire Granit had 25 to 50 grams of sugar per litre yet it doesn’t taste particularly sweet. The nose and palate are nothing more complex than pear juice with a slight effervescent bubble. Very refreshing and only 6% ABV. I bought 2 other Cuvées from Eric Bordelet - one had zero ABV. Had a 2nd bottle 21 weeks later on 3rd January 2023 with consistent notes. Refreshing, tasty and uncomplicated. — 2 years ago

Once I read this had a drinking window of 2008- 2040 by John Gilman I had to try it. Definitely not close to being a pop & pour so maybe he’s on to something with these. 2010 vintage has a drinking window to 2060😳 — 3 months ago
