Beautiful wine, and nice change of pace in Napa! — 7 years ago
Nice change of pace. A bit reduced upon opening. Through that is dark berries, some cigar tobacco, damson earth, spices and complex minerality. Terrific aromas. Palate is round and juicy upfront with excellent acidity and becomes more full bodied and dense on the finish with imposing tannins. Super mineral finish. So juicy for such a large framed wine. Ample volume here and it hints at a long life as these are known to age. As it opens there is a lovely mineral/stone/wet moss aroma. — 8 years ago
Cos is a wine I have only tried a few times. A collector darling, most who collect it are fanatic only about Cos. Kind of like how Pittsburgh sports fans if you are familiar.
These were both exceptional. The 2000 showed some tertiary aspects in the nose, less so in the palate as a strong, tannic structure bolstered my thoughts of much further longevity than the nose hinted to. Flush with the firm and chewy tannin Saint-Estephe wines sport for more time than their southerly Medoc counterparts. Plenty of layered, savory and pristine black and red fruits fan out over the structure.
The 2005 is even more complex and dense and I would have to think will age at a glacial pace as this was just getting going from what I could tell as it was showing so young and tight.

Great with seafood. For how light the color is, I expected it to be one dimensional, but it is surprisingly full-bodied with lots of flavor elements. — 9 years ago
Big and round mouthful, dried cassis, tobacco. Some hints of bell pepper. Rustic but very well balanced at the same time. Deep and inky purple. Fruit is far back there, which is a nice change of pace for us Americans. Great with a NY strip on a Thursday night. — 6 years ago
The oxidation is an element but not dominant. Salty. Balanced richness. Mineral. Delicious baked apply thing going on Wow. I had this with peppers and anchovies and grilled halumi. That combo needs a change of pace wine. And this delivered. You don’t want to drink this style every day but once a month it’s fun as hell. Bought from fass selections. — 6 years ago
serious depth and roundness. refreshing change of pace from white wines that have cranked up acidity. — 7 years ago
3/8/14 — Full bodied taste was an intense shock to the mouth. Started out peppery and oakey, almost Bourbon-like. The excitement faded quickly though, leaving a bright but rather boring grape flavor. Short finish, less than half a minute. — 8 years ago
Nice change of pace white. Paired very well with sea bass. — 8 years ago
Impressive and interesting. Dark ripe cherries, sour cherries, warm spice. Seems restrained and subtle at first but gathers pace and lenth. — 9 years ago
60% Cabernet Franc, 25% Merlot & 15% Cabernet Sauvignon
Nose has spring rose, rain moistened red raspberry, black currant and fresh sage.
Palate has lightly tannic blackberry, wet leather, ripe black currant, cigar box, wet clay and tarry black cherry.
Paired with a long cooked Bolognese sauce over fettuccine. Decanted ~3hr, more time in the decanter would benefit. Future bottles can be 2022+
Happy Father's Day 2019 to all. Today I'm posting pictures of our kids, yes they are all furry, independent and somewhat self-interested. Two boys (8) and two girls (2), sisters, all rescued. They generally bring the utmost of joy to my life on a daily basis. It has been a rainy and relaxing day here, everyone is loving the slow pace of life today.
I think that Delectable needs to be able to tag cat+wine posts so that I can make a bookmark for felines. — 6 years ago
Totally out there wine. Orange wine in stainless. Super fresh. You can feel the skins. Orange and grapefruit rind on the palate. Very fresh and juicy. Really really juicy. A hint of bitterness. Amazing change of pace wine. A great wine to have twice a year. I had it with salad and oueffs en meurette. — 6 years ago
Enjoyed at Barbalu with Alex and Katie — 7 years ago

October 2019!
Beautiful label ‘Adopt the pace of nature; Her secret is Patience’ ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Mother Nature is intriguing and elusive, reigning with grace and beauty. There is no doubt that she is the one True Myth. We respect her for the enigma that she is and honour her with a beautiful Cab Sav - smooth wine loaded with blackberry & cherry, touch of caramel.
Enjoyable, love the label - intrigued me to try and so glad I did! — 6 years ago
