Not something I would usually go far, but I really loved this. It is lightly sweet with notes of rose, strawberry, persimmon, and crushed grass. Really tasty with a roast chicken dinner. — 6 years ago
Balsamic, walnut, apricot, ginger, persimmon, fino Sherry nose. Pale tawny. Chocolate and coffee on the palate. Low acidity from Mission grape. — 6 years ago
Beautiful and rich, with aromas of orange peel, stoniness, chamomile, following through with persimmon and honeydew- balanced by scintillating acid and resin — 8 years ago
Light Sumatra coffee notes, with dark cocoa nib and baked red plum with a borderline persimmon coat on. A drop of night blooming jasmine surfacing briefly and African violet, and a fat lily thickness. There are baked cherries and a smoky paprika, too. Black cherry, that coils dustily into a toasty oak and resin dappled raspberry and roobios bitterness and fine grained tannins. #brunello #poggiocastellare #PianBossolino #italianwines #montalchino #Tuscany #riserva #wineallyouwant — 8 years ago

A bit unusual like the label. 15% has some kick. Dark fruit persimmon taste to me. — 7 years ago
Excellent example of European amber wine. Deep amber color from the Rebula grape variety, skin contact and oak work miracles for the taste and body. Aromas of honey, yellow apple, tobacco, persimmon, daffodils, cinnamon. Longish aftertaste with apples, tobacco and persimmon. Starts to lose its acidity, but still vibrant. Well-balanced wine with pleasant oily body. — 7 years ago
Wow. Fresh.
The nose has layers of disciplined fruit.
Nothing crazy, very textbook good.
Bright. IlLuminated salted berries, persimmon, ripe, yet not to much, plum, hints of melon. Perfect acidity to stave (Ha!) off the oak.
This is an amazing BDX blend, and so worth the price.
No candied over cloying here.
This is a good expression.

Dried persimmon, dark rolls, browned butter, pepitas, white pepper, dried pineapple, tangerine, dried lemon peel aromas waft pungent from the antique golden nectar. Tangerine and itspith, Meyer lemon peel, baked apple, pineapple in lemon oil, lime zest and a touch of biscuit on a clean, if ridiculously complex finish boasting oceanic notes of brine and shell. #Champagne #bubbles #champagneandcaviar #champagnedreams #nationalcaviarday #moutard #6cepages #luxury #champagnetoujours — 8 years ago
Robinot. Madman de Loire. He doesn’t rush anything. He makes wines you haven’t tried before.
L’Opera Des Vins is a mixed bag of Pineau d’Anuis and Chenin in Pet Nat form.
Pours a beautiful bright orange creamsicle. Tiny bubbles, lots of them. Deep yeast driven fruity notes of blood oranges, persimmon, Ceylon cinnamon, and coriander.
It’s hard to tell if this is truly off dry or truly fruity. Or both.
As special and interesting as any Pet Nat I’ve ever tried. — 5 years ago
Red gold body with a Matisse sketched white ring and merengue peaked, sheet-lacing. Clean citrus nose exhibiting clementine and dried pineapple, Meyer lemon and a faint funky-persimmon and lotus. There is something pleasant about the naturalness of the aromatics here with dried lemon verbena and Calloway seed. Orange and tangerine eclipse the lemon on the palate and add sweet grapefruit, and a clove note that tightly binds the whole. The bitterness being mitigated by the maple was brilliant here! Makes the Dogfish 90 seem clunky in comparison. I am a fan of this manifestation. Careful crafting and a simple solution to tune aggressive hops. There is no maple flavor btw. .

Unexpected and glorious Australian expression of this classic varietal. Skin contact and amphora-aged, this is a wine of personality - orange rind, persimmon, kumquat, anise, yellow blossom, with enough texture to blend seamlessly with food and accent it. Delightful with endive-romesco-persimmon salad and black bass with anise broth and shelling beans — 7 years ago
Dried figs, persimmon, orchids, envelopes by a basket of ripe fruits, hints of mint. Not the usual Meursault style I have been recently drinking. Another surprise! — 8 years ago
persimmon party w my love. she says sweet and smokey — 8 years ago
Friday Night Whites. Picked up this little southern beauty from the grocery based solely on location and label - yes, that’s me, basic AF. Anyways, Southern Right is a winery based on the southwest tip of South Africa that specializes in Pinotage and Sauvignon Blanc. The 2017 SvB is a dry offering of 10% Hemel-en-Aarde Valley grapes with the rest being a blend of other Walker Bay SvB with ~14k cases produced. Most of the grapes in the area grow in a sandstone/clay soil in a maritime climate, yielding a nice old world flavor profile to the wines, (think acid and mineral). Wine has been grown in South Africa since the 1650s, but only recently with the ending of Apartheid, has the industry been able to thrive. Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Colombard are the most grown varietals. Drank this one, on its own, chilled and unpaired. Remember to drink this now - SvB is best when young. ~$16 | #sauvingnonblanc #southafricanwine #fridaynightwhites
On the eyes: Pale light yellow, clear, light stain, med tears, no gas/floc.
On the nose: Delicate gooseberry and quince, sweet lychee, some floral notes and wet slate. Med alcohol.
On the tongue: Med+ acid, light tannin, med alcohol, juicy and round. Quince, asian pear, persimmon, and lychee rounding out to a bit of leafy notes and high mineralty. Really nice, long, pleasant finish. Not your classic SvB! — 8 years ago
Rhonely Boy
80% Grenache, 20% Syrah
Nice wine brand to explore. In the voice of Pauly Shore “astrological... buddy”.
Needs 3 hr decant (journey along the way was very interesting, with lots of plot twists, and interesting views).
Nice fruit level, red and dark berry, black plum, persimmon (?mushiness on the tip of tounge?), rocks, cement, bitter, medium tannin.
Im down, eager to explore more of the portfolio. Very nice CDR. — 5 years ago
