Bright translucent ruby core, on the nose the wine displays a nice freshness of red berries and candies cherry. The palate is medium bodied, juicy with good length. A couple more years of age and this wine will sing! — 8 years ago
2002 vintage. Fairly and surprisingly on the darker side of medium ruby. On the nose, rich and coffeed. Ripe black fruited. Sweet smelling. On the nose, bit of a hammer to crack a nut. Seems over extracted. Good concentration and very long. But tannins are big and round and the wine is unbalanced for me. Drink now until 2030+. — 10 years ago

Grapefruit and plenty of mineral on both nose and palate. Some austerity as you often get with Saint Aubin. As Jasper Morris MW describes the terroir - “A steep south west facing vineyard overlooking the hamlet of Gamay. It offers attractive wines but not in the First Division of St-Aubin.” The following night notes of mandarin on the palate with the ever present mineral. — 5 months ago
Nice tertiary notes of mushroom and forest floor. Fruit is still present albeit somewhat muted. Enjoyable but not the very best from the climat. — 10 months ago

At Batard in NYC. Decanted. Nice aged ruby color. Sweet nose including ripe berries, mushroom, forest floor and some spice. Good mouth feel that lasts long enough to give you the terroir impact. Really like the finish. This was on the wine list at two restaurants in NYC this week and both somms said this was a recent direct release from the domaine. So good provenance and a good showing for a so so vintage. — 11 years ago
