Les Montots Mercurey Pinot Noir 2015

Cherry liqueur, mineral spine. Vibrant acidity. You can smell the stem inclusion here. Quite nice. The cork smelled of TCA, but the wine was sound. Whew! Got lucky! — 5 months ago

Chassagne Montrachet wannabe for those of us who can’t afford the good stuff. Very well done w/all the prototypical trappings of White Burg - plenty of oak that’s for sure - elegant and delicious — 10 months ago

"Le Clou 34" Bourgogne Aligoté 2014

A shy nose with subdued green apple, a hint of green reine Claude plum, very fresh & pure.
On the palate this is defined by the juicy, electric acidity - so fresh, pure & alive. Great depth and definition with a beautiful mineral backbone. Amazing with food!
Great stuff!

Mercurey Pinot Noir 2020

Deep red color. Bright aromas and flavors of red berry/cassis fruit, wet soil, dark chocolate and baking spices. A pronounced vanilla note on the mid-palate. Well balanced but a bit short on the finish. Very smooth tannins. Young and fruit forward. Could benefit from additional bottle age. Thank you for sharing this one, Chris B! — 6 months ago

La Mission Mercurey 1er Cru Chardonnay

2015 vintage. Probably at its peak. Ripe exotic fruit, buttery, intense and long. Could be mistaken for Meursault or even Sonoma. Lovely. — 9 months ago

Les Clous Aimé Bourgogne Côte Chalonnaise Chardonnay 2018

2022/8. As I’ve noted lately, it feels like the de Villaine whites have added another level in the last several years - deeper, more complex and more satisfying, without sacrificing any joyousness and without trying to be Meursault or anything like that. — 2 years ago

Les Saint-Jacques Rully Chardonnay 2018

2021/4. I feel like de Villaine’s Chardonnays have a bit more depth and savor than they did a decade ago - and they were certainly good then. This was lovely, with lots of fresh fruit and acidity but some sneaky stone, butter and hazelnut lurking. — 3 years ago

Absolutely love this producer. Maybe the best in the entire Mâcon. The rully blanc is pure and citrus driven with a salinity that won’t quit. Oyster shells on the nose as well as essential oils. Turns out the rouge is ‘rully’ good as well! Bright red fruits on the nose,
Super clean and fresh with some width to it as well. These are priced like every night wines but deliver like something that is a real treat
