Nose is ripe with late season red cherries. Spice, earth. Wet earth and tweed jacket. Really spectacular fruit on the nose. Almost a cola like intensity but it’s all Burg fruit. Terrific aromas. Really nice layered spices beyond that. Almost middle eastern. Juicy and so concentrated with such sappy and pure fruit. Man what amazing fruit here. So long and slippery. Really open now but will develop. More 22’s I taste more I have to pat myself on the back for making the call these would be open when they landed. Not one closed 22 so far. Fantastic wine. — 5 months ago
This was a surprise. The body was lighter than I expected, the nose practically busting with forest floor and dusty ripe red fruits, dusty tannins, but for this meal it paired perfectly. Drank at Arnaud’s in New Orleans. #pinotforpresident — 3 years ago
Terrific nose with some framing oak that will blow off with air. Deep cherry, some dark red cherry, mineral, earth, spice and some florals. Huge palate impact with gorgeous fruit. Unreal fruit and buffered by very good acidity and a fine, slippery texture. Just terrific fruit clarity and precision with lovely spice that echoes on the finish. Some mint and menthol coming in on the nose but this needs more air. Will be back. Really wonderful finesse here as well. As this airs the fruit gets silkier and sweeter. 23 more and more reminding me of 19 once it gets proper aeration. — 3 months ago
I was a little concerned when I found this had aged so long. It was so delicious. Ripe juicy fruit with not too much oak, Soft mellowed tannins. so glad this got the extra age. — 8 months ago
Nose is lemon, some discreet wood. vanilla extract, lanolin and an intense stony minerality. Sweet lime as well and just stunning aromatic depth and vividness. 9.4 nose. Great cut and almost zero wood on palate and what is there is lovely and complementary to the awesome acidity and freshness. Really long. Such a mineral bomb. Long. Wow this really drinks well for $32? A great wine. — 2 years ago
First time with this grape and this vintner. Color is super light. Very clean and crisp. At first sip, thought we were missing something but enjoyed it more had more throughout the evening - enough that we’d buy again at $30 and look forward to trying more from Keep. Very fun and interesting — 4 years ago

Big, brambly nose with lots of red cherries, mid season sour cherries, earth and mineral. Really clean and evocative. Palate is juicy and so precise. Very clean and a lovely mineral/fruit wash on the finish. Great depth, freshness and terrific concentration. Not elegant but this wine never is. It has such impact for little $$. Nice, ripe tannins and serious structure. This is always best at 5 years old. — 3 months ago
Glorious nose. So exuberant. Rich, dense black and red cherries. Cranberry and black plum. Gorgeous lift. Palate has great freshness and deep black and red cherry fruit. Very pure and terrific acidity fans out on the long finish. Really lithe yet classic dense, structured and classic Aloxe. Really ripe, sweet, chewy and dense tannins. Girard always delivers. Fruit set that is developing on the finish is fantastic. 2019 is a modern day 1999. As this airs it gains in opulence, sap and a little toasty oak. Ideally a few more years. — 8 months ago
