Nice young yellow canary color. Heavy in the glass. Tropical nose with notes of sea breeze, lemon, kiwi, white stones and tan spice. Glycerol and rich in the mouth. California like, but with nice Chablis nuances. I wonder how this will evolve over next 10 years. Maybe like 92’s? — a year ago
Beautiful pale, icy yellow. Nose is like arriving to the coast. Sea breeze with light tropical fruit notes, pineapple and mango. Perfect salinity and lemon zest on the tongue. Absolutely beautiful. — 2 years ago
Tasted double-blind. The 2018 Lucien Crochet pours a very pale straw color. On the nose, almost imperceptible pyrazines. Instead, the smell of an ocean breeze with a touch of cheesy funk that I find rather attractive. On the palate, there is an undeniable freshness to this wine that is really compelling. Citrus fruits with white pepper. Medium-plus acid. Satisfying finish. Very good! — 3 years ago
Delicious. Delicate, citrus, subtle brine, delicious with seafood, afternoon in the sun with an ocean breeze. — a month ago
Opened after an 05 Forets was found to be corked. 3 hours in a decanter. Light straw gold and youthful in the glass. Medium weight. Nice nose. Notes of citrus, white clay, tan spice, some light apricot, some river stones and some sea breeze. Rich and full of energy in the mouth. This is good now but still early in its life. — 3 years ago
Can’t believe it’s been over a year since my last bottle. Absolutely love this wine. Gorgeous floral and fruit nose. Black, then blue ripe fruit, camphor, eucalyptus, black licorice, pencil lead. Silky soft tannins, perfectly balanced, incredibly mouthfeel. Full bodied but light on its feet. Long finish. Tasting better now than my last time, so raising the rating. — 5 months ago
Day 2 of WineBoyz Wineapalooza. We move to Pebble Beach the next day, where a spectacular lineup has been assembled. Tasted blind. Medium gold color. High-pitched nose. Notes of citrus, pineapple, tan spice, some honey and some sea breeze and sea shell. Rich and powerful in the mouth. Got better and better as we went back to it multiple times during the day. Guessed 90 Raveneau Clos. — 2 years ago
Tasted blind. Light gold color. Has a nose that immediately takes me to Chablis. Notes of honey, citrus, wet river stone, ocean breeze, tan spice and white chalky soil. Perfectly balanced in the mouth with lots of fruit and acidity. Screams Raveneau. I guess 2000 Raveneau Valmur. Had this side by side with the 2000 Fevre Clos… the 2000 Raveneau Butteaux had 4 hours of air in the decanter, the 2000 Fevre Clos only 30 min… it clearly showed (1) why you age Chablis and (2) why you give them hours of air to open before consumption. The Raveneau was outstanding and the Fevre didn’t have time to show its expression. — 3 years ago
