Oak, lime like herb in aroma. Rich, citrus, white flowers. Citrus, comfortable acidity. Each factor in the taste is showing the feature clearly. From Hunter valley which is an initial place for wine in Australia. Vat 47 Hunter Chardonnay Tyrrell’s 2018 @7546, Toscany JH, 231028-231111 — 2 years ago
1.5 hour decant (just a little cloudy sediment). A thrilling dark purple garnet color. On the nose: blackberry, floral, spice, gravel. Taste: dry, acidic, medium body wine with blackberry, tobacco, cassis, some dusty tannis still there and a cherry cedar medium finish. — 5 years ago

A bit earthy for my taste — 6 years ago
Subtle lime & stoney fruit, a strong mid palate & some complexity (& from what I read the potential for aging) 10.5% alcohol, a lovely slight effervescence completely blows away my negative biases @ Australian wines. I though at firstThat 20$ was a tad pricey-& thats 20$ on sale, but after i finished the bottle, its a bargain. — 8 years ago
Light golden color. Aromas of straw/hay, wet stones and Asian pear. Flavors of green melon, key lime, sour quince, beeswax, dried herbs and lemon zest. Touch of minerality on the lingering and quite refined finish. Mouth coating oily texture. Medium acidity and plush texture. Only 11% Alcohol. Quite unique and interesting. Solid QPR. — 9 months ago
In a great spot after an hour of air. A fantastic complement to lamb chops. Bravo, @Mike Smith! — 3 years ago

Very surprised when I opened the wine list. My inner geek took over when I saw it was the same wine I consumed last week but a different vintage. A much less open and complex nose than the’11.
In the mouth this wine demonstrated greater freshness than the ‘11. Grapefruit like acidity put the fruit flavors at the forefront. Once again I was a little disappointed with the finish but I think in this case the wine truly needs time to unwind. — 6 years ago
Opaque black dark red colour with a bright red to dark hue. Smoky dark plum and liquorice scents and peppered clove scents Rich plum and liquorice fruits carry good weight and it has a plush feel across the palate. Scorched earth, dried meats, Very polished tannins yet structurally sturdy and firm. The long finish has black pepper characters. — 9 months ago
No formal notes. Quite rich , grassy and waxy but still lots of lime and lemon character . Quite taught , mostly lean lime and lemon , beeswax character fruit on the palate . Long and detailed on the finish with a toasty touch . Great intensity . Needs time , still quite primary , I would expect this will improve over the next 10-15 years and last well a further 10 @ Brokenwood Winery , Hunter Valley — 2 years ago

Decided to try this tonight with a filet. Has been awhile since I last tasted this wine. Aging beautifully. Great body. Depth of fruit. Just a beautiful California cab from a great vintage. — 8 months ago
