Renegade Wine dinner series at Rebelle NYC presented by sommelier Patrick Cappiello. Focus was on Cab Franc: 15 wines paired with 5 courses. Posting a few favorites.
Was excited to see this on the list. A very French style of Cab Franc - but a nice balance of savory and fruit. A touch sour but very smooth, round and refreshing. Was excellent with food (beet tartare).

Delicious fruity and complex. Alcohol comes through more than I would like. — 9 years ago
Riper style, good balance of oak, well balanced overall. 25% new oak, partial Malo. — 10 years ago
Crazy awesome. Tons of black pepper, smoke, tobacco and bacon fat. Luscious dark fruits. Very fruit forward palate. Waaaaaay too young. — 10 years ago
2008: The overriding impression of the nose was smoky mezcal, no matter how many times I went back to the well. A silky almost glossy quality to the fruit. Most likely VA driving the nose, yet I imagine it's simply this bottle. — 10 years ago
Excellent Napa chardonnay. — 11 years ago
Initially dry, but with a fruity nose. Expected to have a full flavor and finish as the bottle nears the end. — 12 years ago
Good def get agaib — 13 years ago
Light, small spice, almost an effervescence. Delicious and versatile — 8 years ago
THE. BEST. DOMESTIC. CHARD!!!!!! Yes, yes, yes. I'm blown away. This is the best domestic chard I've ever drank. This particular vintage is killer. I could poor this in a lineup of top notch Meursault and none would be the wiser, that's how good this is. Intense smoke/funk brought on by minerality that most domestic producers could only dream of. A legendary wine in my book. @June's All Day, Austin TX — 8 years ago
This is an inarguably great wine. And all the more impressive to me that it is stylistically not my typical leanings. Serious power, depth, balance - still so young - and I'll be damned if this wine isn't mindblowing in 10 years. Bravo @Fritz Hatton — 10 years ago
Beautiful texture. — 10 years ago
Simple Merlot with smooth taste — 10 years ago
Still hanging tuff with ample fruit and balance 2005 vintage — 11 years ago
Enjoyed this wine. Light and fruity with above finish. Found it at BJ's. — 11 years ago
For all those that love to say, "this California Chardonnay is Burgundian," can check out White Rock. — 12 years ago
Medium body, oakie, smooth finish — 13 years ago
At first I thought this was too mild. But after it was open about 30 minutes, the fruity flavors really came out. — 8 years ago
Very interesting Syrah from the central coast. Very vegetal and almost medicinal nose; bit of a canned black olive quality (not in a bad way). Full bodied, dark and deep on the palate. Nice. — 8 years ago
Classic cab. Affordable at about $10. — 8 years ago
Dark blue fruit, mocha, and spice on a taut frame that spins out to a long minerally finish. This should improve considerably with a few more years of bottle age. — 9 years ago
AWESOME. Great structure and flavor. Dark fruit and tobacco. Only thing missing is a good cigar. — 10 years ago
Red blend from Sonoma at The Vine! — 11 years ago
Still tight and tannic, big fruit bomb in the mouth. Opens nicely, nose is reserved with dark fruit and pencil shavings. — 11 years ago
First glass was outstanding. Subsequent glasses were great, but the first sold me hands down. Great bottle from Chimney Rock. — 11 years ago
Sophisticated summer in a bottle... Lovely bouquet of flowers, peaches, vanilla, carmel and almonds- reminded me of peach cobbler. I was grateful for the long clean finish as I did not want it to end. Lovely! — 12 years ago
