Classic Austrian red nose with dark fruit (plums!) and a pinch of allspice & cloves. Medium bodied, nicely balanced and with a juicy tannic frame filled by ripe plums & cherries. Good depth & nice purity. Plus a long finish. What’s not to like? — a month ago
Not quite over the hill, but I’m afraid that this bottle is reaching the tail end of its drinking window. The color has become light amber, and there are definitely some nutty notes. That said, still a lovely fresh glass of Riesling. — 2 months ago
@Pinotman /// Andreas definitely not fully oxidized, but seems like it’s just beginning to do so. I still have one more bottle of this wine so let’s see how that one is…
Pop and pour. Disappearing quickly. On the nose: pear, lemon oil, wet stone, hazelnut. On the palate: lovely acidity, but really stunning density, hazelnut oil, lemon, soft pepper and limestone. Wow. Really lovely and slathered in minerality. — 6 months ago
