Le Grand Contrôle - Ducasse Year 2018 — 5 years ago
Fascinating wine. So much going on. Super vinous, even cidery. Gold in the glass, a little oxidative, looong finish. Some subtle green flavors, a leafy wild herbal thing. Deep, tooth tingling acid, but mature, white balsamic-type acid. Yeasty but long-fermented sourdough type yeasty. Madeleines and lemon marmelade. Enjoy this with rich food, like roast game bird. Or Cheetos. We paired it with Cheetos. Deg sept 2019. — 6 years ago

Old reliable. Always one of my favorite Rhones. Heavyish-medium body, heavy fruit, medium tannin, great food complement, mouthy. Even drinks well alone & is friendly enough not to overpower cheese or light hors d'oeuvre. — 11 years ago
This was a monster out of the gate and held its own. Really impressed. Shows age but not softness. Elegant, open, beeswaxy, beautiful — 12 years ago
Initially a muted nose which opened up to white and yellow flowers and with air, ripe fruit aromas - some minerality with a hint of oyster shell. On the palate ripe stone fruit reflecting the warmer vintage - some tropical fruit and ripe grapefruit as well. A saline touch at the finish. Very enjoyable and easy to drink. More new world Chardonnay than traditional Chablis. — 5 years ago
A lot going on the nose. Red fruit, black fruit, meat, leather. Would be a good wintertime wine. Too bad they’re sold out at Kermit Lynch. Devin gave it 💯 — 6 years ago

A very nice premier cru Chablis. Notes of pineapple, fennel and slate on the nose. Strong finish with nice acidity throughout. — 10 years ago

2011. Crisp green apple flavors predominate. Very fresh with good acidity. — 12 years ago
This is just lovely…
Lemonzest, red apples, wet rocks. Delicate hints of ginger, candyshop and matchstick. Really like the balance of acidic freshness, some richness in the mid palate and citrus bitters in the very long and chalky dry finish.
Better at cellar temperature than straight out of the fridge. — 2 years ago

So much richness and texture yet so drinkable. Phenolic and engaging. Subtleties abound, from white and orchard blossoms, citrus and stone fruits, beeswax, olive, radish, white pepper, tea leaves, stones. Approachable, elegant, yet cerebral enough to maintain conversation. — 8 years ago
Can we talk about this label? Who is this for? Anyway, this wine is a stark contrast to the 2012 Tribut. Not particularly noticing the step up in pedigree, which is maybe 2013's fault. Very tropical and soft, quite expressive but I miss some minerality. Not bummed to be drinking it though. Bus hang in Gateshead — 10 years ago

96 points? No way. Fine village wine with clean 2010 fruit. Great for its pedigree. Happy to drink it. — 11 years ago
