Château Lynch-Bages

Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2015

First time trying this wine having some how missed it for years. Found it very acidic and lithe. Improved vastly with time and air but still a little lacking. Nice cherry taste. — 7 months ago

I have the same and have to decided to give it another 5 years to give it a chance. To your point, it's just a hint lacking now, Hopefully time will resolve the wine portential

Produttori del Barbaresco

Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2013

Last nights comparison. Both were very much cherry driven fruit, but more acidic sour cherry in the 2013 at first while an almost cough drop deep cherry in the 2014. I found the 2013 had a more earthy nature while the 2014 seemed more rounded and had more deep fruit. — 4 years ago

Château Lilian Ladouys

Saint Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

Tried a few timed. Aged well. The vines of Lilian-Ladouys are found a stone's throw from the Graves of Cos d'Estournel and the Chateau Lafite-Rothschild. Deep Ruby, with inky tones. Aromas of black and blue fruit, smoky notes and soft spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and plum with toasty oak flavors, full body with fine round tannins, long finish ending with earthy mineral character. — 5 years ago

Corison

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

2019 vintage. PNP. Sultry and sexy. Light-medium/medium bod. The Corison Cabernets occupy a deliciously distinctive, Napa niche. This vintage is no less than that standard. Slightly less “busy” than the 2018, the 2019 continues to bring the must-have goods to market. Herbs, earth, woods, cassis, anise, kapow and blammo all easily found within. When you come across a jaded Napa Cab person (raises both hands), this baddy restores the faith. 01.20.25. — 7 months ago

Dom Pérignon

Brut Champagne Blend 2015

A high quality champagne just not the style of DP I seek out. I found this vintage hedonistic versus serious. Obviously very young. I wish I had the skill set to speculate on how this will turn out with time. — 10 months ago

Across many of my favorite producers, the 2015 vintage isn’t my favorite expression. It’s good, but like you said, it’s pretty flashy.

Château Ducru-Beaucaillou

Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 1996

Delectable Wine
9.3

The 1996 Ducru-Beaucaillou is a vintage that I have not tasted for a number of years. Matured in two-thirds new oak, it has an open and expressive bouquet, a mixture of red and black fruit, estuarine scents, touches of liquorice emerging with time. It is higher-toned than the 1995 with iodine evolving with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent tannins, fresh acidity, quite sweet in the mouth and maybe like the 1995, just missing that complexity and terroir expression that I think has defined recent vintages from this estate. Maybe it is slightly compromised by some Merlot (25%) that was picked a but later, but still, there is a lot of pleasure to be found in this 1996. Tasted at the Ducru Beaucaillou vertical at the château. (Neal Martin, Vinous, July 2022)
