N: Salty dried butterscotch/caramel, Seashore, old boats, rot in the best of ways.
P: Sweet but no… upon entry, the impression is of something unctuous and sweet, for a bit of a second, then DRY. Yellow and gold flowers/melon,
heady at 16°. Great w baby artichokes and Parm and pan seared Branzino.
Varnish lacquer,

From Clos Pepe, Radian, Fiddlestix & Bentrock vineyards, aged for 10 months in French oak (45% new), aromas of ripe red berry fruits and complex spice. On the palate cherry and raspberry flavors with notes of tea and pepper wrapped in smoky oak. Fine tannins, nicely balanced lingering ending with an earthy mineral tang. — 5 years ago
Delightful. Great, light, flavorful Pinot - drinking really well. Paired w/ tasty toasted goat cheese crostini + light spinach salad w/ balsamic/mustard. I think Ojai pinots are a treat & great value. — 5 years ago

At Flying Goat, the goal is to produce unpretentious, playful wines while retaining a serious quality focus and commitment to a purity of expression from single-vineyard sites such as the Solomon Hills Vineyard, Bien Nacido Vineyard, Rancho Santa Rosa, to name a few.
This intention is reinforced by everything from the whimsical labels (Flying Goat, Goat Bubbles, YNOT), to the critical acclaim Flying Goat Cellars has garnered for its impressive wines, to the impeccably balanced and delicious Pinot Noir and vintage, traditional method sparkling wines.
This 2016 blanc de noirs sparkler — made with Pinot Noir hailing from the Bien Nacido Vineyard — is medium gold in appearance, with a fine and creamy mousse, and fresh notes of just-ripe yellow apple, pear, white peach, lemon zest, citrus blossom, biscuit, toast, brioche, toasted almond, and marzipan. It has a lingering, elegant finish.

Named after Pepe (José) Zuccardi, who runs winery alongside his son Sebastián, 10% Cab Sauv added, deep Ruby with aromas of dark red fruits, baking spice and dried floral notes. On the palate flavors of blueberry and blackberry with licorice, herb pepper and oak. Fine grainy drying tannins, lively acidity, long finish ending with fruit and mineral spice. Nice! — 5 years ago
