Massimo Clerico Lessona Riserva 2012: Medium-plus bodied. Medium-plus acidity. Moderately present tannins with primary red fruit aromas & flavors. Tobacco. Menthol. Oak. Earth. Sweet spices. Dry long finish. For me, this wine was unbelievably balanced, full of life and drinking perfectly! 100% Nebbiolo…..100% pure satisfaction! Paired perfectly with several small & large bite plates including wagyu hanger steak, chef’s cut ribeye, mushroom risotto & this perfectly cooked Maui caught fish! Great day to all! At Jonathon and Shila Not sure the nose but the palate erupts with cherry cassis and fruit I have never had before. Some tannins persist and lasts months. Clerico not disappointing tonight. — 2 months ago
Very big with strong flavors. Good decanted. A communion grape massaged to be delicious without sugar. — 6 months ago

This was singing tonight after giving it a little air as the change was dramatic where it started off with a ripeness & full body note that opened up to a more classically styled Barolo that was structured showing a perfumed nose of tart cherry, spice box with menthol, dried herbs, tar & rose petal. I have had this wine many times & tonight this was the best btl that I have had of this. — a month ago
