This wine paired well with both barbacoa and mole poblano. Two different Mexican dishes that are often hard to pair with wine. The sweetness of the mole blended well with the fruitiness of the wine. — a year ago
2000 | Nebbiolo
Domenico Clerico; Pajana (Ginestra)
Piedmont - Langhe; Barolo, Monforte d'Alba, Italy
(92-94; Drink 2030-40)
Nose has cherry jam, wet leather, stewed red fruits, sweet tobacco and dark chocolate.
Palate has cherry mash, moist chocolate brownie, cedar and sea salt. Fading but present tannins.
12H decant, still needs airing, long life ahead. I'm a fan of 2000 Baroli. — 3 months ago
Very delicate nose (oak, cranberry) with a consistent short, but lingering finish of currant and slight rhubarb. — 10 months ago
Surprisingly deep ruby in color but while it didn’t resemble most Nebbiolo wines to the eye it was clearly there on nose and palate. Black cherry, red cherry, cranberry, plum, violet, rose, tar, leather, cedar, truffle, prune, dried cherry, eart and forest floor. Terrific balance of the opulent flavors with the high acidity and ripe tannin. This was terrific. — 4 months ago
Nice Barolo! This wine can stay in the cellar 3-5 years more. — 5 months ago
Ugly label. Good wine 😊 Formentos — 9 months ago
