I adore this wine. Just had to crack if for national drink wine day #goodexcuse — 8 years ago
Won the Trophy for Best Shiraz at the National Wine Show 2012. Fruit from the Gundagai region and starting to put this region on the map. Peppery red fruits and starting to develop some leather notes at 7 years. A nice counterpoint to the lush Barossa styles showing the versatility of Shiraz. — 8 years ago

Way way different wine than the bryant flagship wine i tasted tonight. Very different vintages as well. One obstreperous and one forgiving. However, i must say this wine nods toward the old school with its intense pyrazines and red fruit oriented character. A considerable earth tone that is consistent through the nose. A forest scent. This had chambord like deep raspberry aromas with hibiscus and dark strawberries with blackcurrant in the background. Magnificent oak integration. This wine was hard to rate behind their flagship 12 which had gained such praise but the complexity and finish of the 12 in such youth is a tad more compelling. — 9 years ago
"National drink wine day" fun. An interesting wine. A tug between tart & savory; herbal & sweet (but a dry wine); or is it animal (brett) & mineral (rocky) ... Got me thinking & thinking is good. I like it & it's a bargain! — 11 years ago

Happy national wine day. Ridge’s wines have always been special to me. The 2005 Lytton Springs is one of the first wines that I vividly remember back when I first got into wine. This Paso Robles Zin was very structured, Dark fruits on the nose. Blackberries, cassis, fresh cracked black pepper, hint of vanilla on palate. Nice smooth finish. Tried this at a restaurant but have 2 bottles stored away back home. Think this guy will be pretty special in 2-3 years. Can’t recall having a bad Ridge wine. One of my favorite producers for the money. — 7 years ago
A little birdie told me today is National Drink Wine Day (as if we needed a reason). I opened this beauty for the occasion. If you like Cali Pinots, this one will knock your socks off. Fantastically fruit forward, but not lightweight---this is a very medium-bodied wine. A hint of spice, a hint of cocoa---would be killer with some dark chocolate. I paired with sea-salted Coastal Cheddar. Stellar stuff. — 8 years ago
Very interesting white. Rich, full. Golden color. Best with food. — 9 years ago
The best Baltimore has to offer! — 10 years ago
No idea where we got this. Typically not bubbly drinkers so we added some chambord. Delish. — 11 years ago
My favorite winery from vacation to Colorado. It was in Fruita just below Colorado National Monument. — 12 years ago
Happy National Pinot Noir Day! I am celebrating by opening the 2011 Benton-Lane Estate Grown Pinot Noir Willamette Valley.
On the nose there is nice red fruit, cherry, strawberry, cranberry, menthol, cola and a touch of funk.
The palate shows the red fruit that is on the nose, tart strawberry, cherry, cranberry, cola, clove, wet leaves and a bit of dry soil.
This is a light bodied wine with medium to + acidity and medium fine luscious tannins that coat the tongue which leads to a nice medium to long fruit filled finish. I hope everyone is enjoying Pinot Noir Day as I am and please as always be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 7 years ago
Sometimes I have to force myself to buy a white that isn't Loire Valley Chenin ( but without actually leaving the Loire Valley, because that would be crazy.) This Cour-Cheverny made me glad I did. I've only had Romorantin a few times prior, but I loved the tart acidity balanced by a great saline minerality. — 8 years ago
Lots of raspberries and cloves on the nose. The palate adds plums and blueberries with some allspice. Very nice Merlot for National Merlot Day! — 9 years ago
