"National drink wine day" fun. An interesting wine. A tug between tart & savory; herbal & sweet (but a dry wine); or is it animal (brett) & mineral (rocky) ... Got me thinking & thinking is good. I like it & it's a bargain!

Lots of pepper and spice here. Inexpensive. Needs time to breath. Otherwise it's too damn tight.

Was on the fence with this one. Definitely tasted better after breathing for an hour but it's kinda schizo with changing aromas and flavors throwing it off balance (and they aren't good aromas and flavors either). Although I may be drinking this past its prime (5 years old, 2010), this is my evaluation. Thin body lacking structure, nose of bitter green herbs, anise, mineral and tastes kinda like tart mud-covered dark plums. UPDATE: wine tastes better the next day. Wow this wine needed about a day to open up. The fruit has come out a little more and it's not so tart and all over the place. Pretty good!
