Domaine La Grange Tiphaine

Grange South Australia Shiraz 2000

Dark ruby in color with a short reddish/ brick rim.

Nose of black currants, blueberries, black cherries, light earth, tobacco leaf, cedar, light vanilla, licorice, eucalyptus, forest floor, mildew, black pepper and herbs.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, spices, oak, chocolates, vanilla, licorice, herbs, earth, light vegetables, tobacco leaf, eucalyptus, Indian spices and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 24 year old iconic wine from Australia is still drinking beautifully. Tasty and smooth with good structure and great complexity. A little bitter on the ending for me, though.

Feels like a 30 year old Left Bank Bordeaux. Might be a bit past its prime, but Interesting stuff nonetheless.

Robert Parker 93 points.

Needed 3 hours of airtime to open up properly.

It is delicious, but I expected more from it. Might just be this specific bottle. I've had a few different vintages of this great wine and it is always an experience.

Good by itself or with food, like a nice piece of steak.

100% Shiraz grapes from Barossa Valley were aged in American oak barrels for 18 months.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

94 points.

Grange le Duc Bourgogne Passetoutgrains Gamay Pinot Noir 2020

Popped and poured; no formal notes. The 2020 “Grange le Duc” has some real Volnay sensibilities with lovely, elegant fruit and forest floor with a taut structure. This responded very well to air and I expect this will flesh out with some cellar time. Drinking well now with some patience and will continue to do so through 2030. — 5 months ago

Reminded me a bit of a white Burgundy with some age to it. Golden yellow with citrus and a touch of saline. Loved every drop. — a month ago

Grange Hermitage Bin 95 Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Dark deep color. Wine looks beautiful in the glass. This wine is immature but the bones are there. It’s balanced nicely and there is a fullness despite the limited age. Spicy with dark fruits. This is going to be a monster in 10 more years. Glad I tried it now but I will do my best to hold off on the remaining bottles for some time. — 11 days ago

Grange Bin 95 Shiraz 1998

Deep and dense. This wine even at 26 years old needed a lot of time. Decanted and enjoyed over 5 hours. It truly hit its stride after hour 4. Spicy, rich dark fruit and lots of grip. — 2 months ago
