Tasted blind while knowing the list of wines. Guessed the wine. And I found it beautiful and refreshing, especially in contrast with the previous atrocity. A charming bouquet of cherry, white pepper, mushrooms, dill and pickled tomato. Relatively funky, fresh and elevated. Not simple, rather a challenge, but a pleasant one.

I've hit the last 4 out of 5 weekly wine committees and it has been a treat every time. This week, @Jeff Meyer hosted and schooled everyone on how good German wines can be!
My favorite red of the day. Mimicked #1 in that I got a lot of new world/RRV characteristics to it. Cedar, cola, Bing cherry notes. Thought possibly Oregon. Very Burgundian, but with a more fruit forward palate. Excellent. — 7 years ago

2012, Clos Des Vignes Du Maynes, Cuvée 910, Macon-Cruzille, field blend of Gamay, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Very light with fresh red fruit balanced by spice and herbal undertones. This is one of my favorites, good as an apertif and pairs well with a variety of dishes. — 10 years ago
Juicy. Oaky. Plush. Red fruits. Little blue. No tannins. Medium bodied. Seemed fine to most but wife did not approve — 4 months ago

Deep ruby. Tobacco, ash, graphite, tons of French oak. Pyrazene. Rather juicy and just ripe fruit - mix of dark and red currants, and red plums. Tarter on palate. Very structured. Called it a left bank 2018 Margaux……… — 8 months ago
Apricot color. Gamay, but complexity. Animal flavor. 2019 @, , 230726 — 9 months ago
Bright, translucent, fruit forward yet with the unmistakable Ahr light touch.
Bright, crunchy cherry with some darker accents, herby undergrowth, a touch of anise & orange zest, a whiff of milk chocolate. Highly inviting.
Fresh, sappy, pure and with great flow on the palate. Crunchy tannins, very juicy cherry acidity, and uplifting mineral finish.
Nothing overly complex or profound yet so delicious. Beats most Villages Bourgognes, at a fraction of the price.
