The Clendenen Family has yet to fail me! My new favorite Chardonnay next to Rombauer...dare I say it's a tie? Light butter note balanced with medium acid, pear, with an ever so slight taste of river stone at the end of a long delicate finish. We had this with cod, freekeh, and a spicy tomato pepper sauce. It's perfect! — 8 years ago
Decent not great.

Aroma of apricot with a hint of minerals. Taste: it's a dry sweet, with a tinge of grapefruit. — 9 years ago
Did a cheese pairing with this monster. Full of flavor and married well with a rich smooth Vermont cheddar. Complex wine. — 10 years ago
Bought 4 bottles of this. Leather, cigar box, loved it. — 11 years ago

Smooth and balanced. Light tannins that build. Seriously one of the most balanced wines I’ve had. Another great from Jim Clendenen. — 6 years ago
Syrah blend to cap off the bachelorette weekend. Smoky spice with a long finish. — 8 years ago
Au Bon Climat legend Jim Clendenen knocks it out of the park with this supple, seductively textured Cabernet. Definitely some Pinot like elegance but delivers a smooth medium bodied finish. — 8 years ago

100% Chardonnay
Medium straw color. Fresh, clear, and transparent.
Sophisticated bouquet showing more restrained fruit profile backed up by clear stone-y/minerally characters.
Structurally, this wine is not as robust as the Los Alamos bottling tasted alongside of it. Med to med low acidity, med body (13.5 abv), dry. Reserved fruit profile of Asian pear and yellow apple. A hint of oak spices such as thyme and cilantro. Pronounced mineral, almost saline notes.
This bottling is rather flat when compared with the Los Alamos. Jim Clendenen said he intentionally made this in a "non-fruit" style that he prefers. Need at least 7 years before this is ready for business. 90+. — 7 years ago
This + this = yum! Even with eight years on it and this wine taste fresh and youthful. Would be very interesting to taste again in another eight years! Love clendenen wines! — 7 years ago

My favorite Chardonnay for the money. Peaches and vanilla with toast and citrus. — 9 years ago
Tonight I am trying the 2012 Au Bon Climat Chardonnay. I have been amazed by Winemaker Jim Clendenen's Pinot Noir's so I though I should try his Chardonnay and I am glad I did. On the nose I get citrus notes, apple, peach and a nice butterscotch essences. On the palate again there is the citrus, apricot, apple, stone fruit and a ver nice acidity. There is a smooth creamy mouth feel and a medium + finish. Jim Clendenen ceases to amaze me. I bought this for $18.99 and is worth every penny. — 10 years ago
As expected an amazing bottle. Kudos to the Mind Behind a.k.a. Jim Clendenen — 11 years ago
