Cheers to Champagne Charlie!
This is the Charles Heidsieck Brut Rosé Réserve. It’s made with a blend of Pinot Noir (40%), Chardonnay (35%), Meunier (25%). It’s a non-vintage wine that cellared in Charles Heidsieck’s famous chalk cellars (crayeres) for 4+ years.
It’s a beautiful salmon hue in appearance and offers complex aromas and flavors including strawberry shortcake, lemon curd, fresh raspberry, baked peach, pie crust, brioche, cream, nougat, toasted almond croissant, candied nuts, and dried pink rose petals. On the palate is a fine and creamy mousse and vibrant acidity.
It’s positively delicious, complex, and balanced. A non-vintage that drinks like a vintage champagne. Yum! — 5 months ago
Beautiful perfumed nose, balance between heavy fruit forward cab and earthy Syrah. Perfect Halloween haunt. — 6 months ago
Solid, versatile red table wine. — 8 months ago
Wanted to drink this with friends but that ain’t happening so cracked it for NYE. Very good I don’t think Charles Heidsiek makes anything that isn’t though — 4 months ago
Deep color and texture. Excellent — 4 months ago
Bright red fruit and baked strawberries on the nose. Berry cobbler, vanilla extract and coffee bean. Cedar on the backend. Delicious, and improves further into the bottle. — 5 months ago

Still has many years of cellaring ahead but delicious esp when decanted. Dark and rich. — 4 months ago
Earthy, blue fruit, smoked pork, olive brine, more alcohol on the nose than I recall, nice cigar smoke, dark ruby almost purple yet bright still, terroir driven with a sense of place. I feel like royalty with every sip. — 5 months ago
Beautiful and very well rounded. Less sweet than I usually like but still so tasty. Very full on the nose- hints of flush red fruit. Nice acidity and tannin balance. — 6 months ago
Drinking the 2016 in 2024. Deep rich color. Very nice legs. Earthy with leather notes bouquet. Very easy drinking. Deep ripe fruit with a slightly sweet finish. Low tannins. — 7 months ago

Holding up the best of a trio of sketchy old Loire reds. With air this reveals black currant, mesquite, tobacco, tomato leaf and slightest hint of raspberry. Still excellent but needs food — 2 months ago
