Vibrant color. Wow, it’s like the Little Red Riding-hood porridge of wine. Not too dry, bold, acidic, long, short or tannic. Just right! Absolutely delicious. Would absolutely buy again and one of the best wines I’ve had in a long time. — 9 months ago
Balanced with front fruit and decent body. No overpowering aspects. — 10 months ago
Bright medium ruby with quite thin ruby , garnet rim . Quite closed with sweet cassis , touch of clove and ash , violet , dark cherry , wet stone . On the palate more of the cassis and spicy blackberry notes , dark cherry , but mineral and saline also , touch of slate , tobacco . Quite lean and refreshing, balanced alcohol . Quite high acidity and grippy tannin . Good mineral and cassis tinged finish . Elegant and refined . Needs a bit of time , will probably improve over the next 5-8 years and will last well a further 10 or so . — 2 years ago

We had the battle of the Shiraz at our family gathering over Christmas. A Shiraz from South Australia and South Africa. Both 2016. This Shiraz, despite from the Adelaide Hills where I think it is a little cooler, was very rich, very bold and broad and a slight jammy note on the edge perhaps. People liked it, but all the votes when for the Shiraz of Cederberg from South Africa. Fun!!! — 8 months ago

Really good rose — a year ago
For the low price give it a 9 — 5 years ago
2015 disgorgement. I’d be interested to see dosage levels, as it tastes a bit sweet. Maybe extra dry. Strawberries and cream, a hint of nutmeg, some nectarine. Better than I expected honestly — 6 years ago
Delicious wine for dinner with red meat or to drink alone. — 8 years ago
Got ou classed by sum baller Cote Rotie!! Contextual embarrassment 🤭 — 9 years ago
Loved this. Not too rich, and yet still distinctly "chard." — 11 years ago
A dense glass-staining purple, the '06 Charles Smith Syrah 'Royal City' is a monumental wine. Big, pungent aromas of game, truffles, black olives and dried fruits exploded from the glass. Complex, but still seamlessly balanced. The tastes stayed on the palate for a seemingly infinite length of time. Simply wonderful! — 13 years ago
Bought in Florida with Erica - full bodied wine - — 8 months ago
So underrated and punching way above its weight class. Bit more delicate and pure than your high end Boudreaux. Perfect for seaside dinners. Great vintage too. — 8 months ago
15th anniversary bubbles 🥂 — 10 months ago
An extraordinary bottle that is a near-perfect blanc de blancs. Medium gold in color, the wine has a beautiful mousse even at 25 years of age, with fine bubbles and a tantalizing aroma conveying powerful primary, secondary and tertiary notes. The nose shows fresh and preserved lemon, green and golden apple, acacia, hawthorn, hazelnut, wet stone and flint. On the palate, the wine is dry but has a wonderful medium-bodied richness. There is vibrant, high acidity that gives the wine great energy. Flavors include smoke, flint, wet stone, preserved lemon, green apple, golden apple, dried acacia, hazelnut, and a hint of roasted coffee along with a pleasant saline quality. The wine has a very long finish and is compelling to drink now though it can certainly age for another decade or more. Outstanding. — 6 years ago
Nice fruits and minerality. Lingering finish. Not fully integrated. Needs some time to settle down. — 9 years ago
Bold Cab with a smooth finish. Recommend with red meat or big flavor dish. — 11 years ago
