Medium ruby , thin slightly pink ruby rim . Quite dark fruit with cassis , blackberry , grafite . On the palate quite ripe and juicy , but with good balance , slightly gritty but ripe tannins , good cassis tinged , grafite finish . Overall this shows well , with good density and juiciness , sweet but importantly with a very balanced , refreshing personality. Enjoyable now , fruit forward , but no doubt can age well over the next 10 years. Enjoyable and moreish . — 5 months ago

Merlot dominated LdP offering creamy lush fruits, good freshness and tertiary notes shining through now. Wine gained complexity and length over the past 2 years. — 8 months ago
As one can expect for a Dave Phinney wine, this is rich and ripe, but it has so much more to offer at year 14. Blueberry, fig, tobacco, cracked pepper, dried mushroom, and slight hint of barnyard. On the palate it’s juicy yet soft and ultra smooth. The finish is long, candied, and earthy.

2020 vintage. Only 1 hectare, owned by the Estager family ( also La Cabanne in Pomerol among others). 66% Merlot and 34% Cabernet Franc. Round and ripe, very good value. Even better the next day. — 3 months ago
Deep inky brick, slow dark legs, plums and chocolate, subtle tannins and beautiful mouthfeel, love a great Pomerol Merlot! — 3 months ago
Nice but not amazing. For $40 would probably skip. Decanted 5 hours. Air was necessary - can believe this would be better in a few years but meh. Tannins are quite balanced, surprisingly so. Overall the nose is a bit muted but air helped. Nice dark fruit. Could use a smidge more acid. Nice pairing with a delicious wagyu tomahawk. — 5 months ago
High tannin. Lots of red fruit. Long finish — 6 months ago

Super good! Typical Aussie style, big, but opened up very nicely after decanting. Not jammy, a little tannic, but overall great — 5 years ago

An approachable Bordeaux from Lalande Pomerol (Right Bank), the V’17 is blended at 80% Merlot and 20% Cab Franc, that reflects on the straightforwardness from the very beginning, quite aromatic, tons of influences of ripe dark fruit, mulberry with a nice acidity balance. The nose and the palate concours on the intensity back fruit ripeness, a hint plummy that yields freshness that also makes it vibrant and uplifting. The mouthfeel pleases even the most sophisticated tastebuds.
Loved the incorporated and tannins structure with a polish and smooth finish. Drink now, as it is still cruising on its prime time. Cheers!

2020 vintage. Medium/medium-heavy body. Blessed with richness up front and grip on the back end without obvious flaws or gaping palate holes. A bit of something for everyone and at decent pricing. In consideration for future...considerations. 01.22.25. — 6 months ago
The 2020 “del Comune di Serralunga d’Alba” is a traditional blend of three MGAs from Serralunga: mostly younger vines from Baudana, Cerretta and now, some fruit from Costabella. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of several hours. The 2020 pours a beautiful garnet with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with tart and ripe notes of Morello cherry, pomegranate, talcum powder, red roses, dry earth and old wood. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and slightly savory. I took the opportunity to enjoy this alongside the “Baudana” and this didn’t have the same elegance but it’s a very complete and balanced Barolo. Drink now through 2040. — 7 months ago
100% Sangiovese. Soft and velvety but oh so expressive! Aromas and flavors of red and black fruits. Complex accents of forest floor, tobacco, dried herbs, black licorice and coffee. The fruit is bold, but it keeps the noteworthy tannins and alcohol in lovely balance. Oaky on the finish but not overpowering. Beautiful wine. Thank You so much, Kase. — 3 years ago
Was amazing the first day we opened it. Unfortunately waited a couple days before finishing. — 6 years ago

2011 vintage. 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, and 11% Petit Verdot. This property was bought by the Bouygues brothers in 2006, the same year when they bought Montrose (up to first growth quality these days, and I gave the 2020 a perfect score). They made huge investments to increase the quality, and this 2011 is a very good effort in a much maligned vintage that remains in the shadow of the great 2010 and 2009 vintages. While the tannins have a slightly rough edge to them, it is balanced and satisfying, and a testimony to Bordeaux's ageing capacities, even in lesser vintages. An attractive food wine, and very good value too. Abv. 13%. — 3 months ago
