Dovevo berlo prima. Già in fase calante ma comunque buono. 16 anni — a month ago
Served this to Robin and Marian when they came for dinner the first time at Gustav-Gull Platz 11. It went very nicely with the lasagna and sausages. Oh, and also with a charcuterie. Marc didn’t have any, so he couldn’t weigh in on the rating. But it was easy to drink and very nice. — 2 months ago
Beautiful and oily and bright. Lime and stone and glossy rich fruit. Salinity and real depth. Delicious — 14 days ago

93 that leans into 94 and will see another point or two with 10 years in bottle.
Sofia and I used to go to their futures luncheon for many years. This vineyard consistently yields fruit that makes one of their best Cabernet’s.
It’s lush as it enters and falls onto dry, meaty tannins. Blackberries, creamy black raspberries, black plum with skin, dark cherries & purple fruits. Dry crushed rocks, dry top soil, limestone & volcanic minerals, moist clay, dry tobacco, new, raw leather, still very woody, mixed mid & dark berry cola, plenty of baking spices-clove, nutmeg, cinnamon & vanilla, dark spices with some heat, some dry herbs, dark melted, chocolate, cocoa powder, caramel notes, bright, fresh & candied florals that are dark, red, blue and framed in violets & lavender, ver nice round acidity with a highly structured, tensioned, well balanced and polished finish that lasts 90 seconds but still lands squarely on wood. — 2 months ago
Surprisingly open and approachable. Gorgeous pure oyster shell and light lime fruit. A stoniness with lovely oily texture. Great precision and purity. This has a long life ahead and is holding some back but is still drinking very well right now. Very long. Wow — 2 months ago

Served around 55°F. The cork looked all kinds of nasty underneath the capsule but I was able to extract it, intact, with the help of a Durand. I then poured the bottle into a decanter about 30min prior to service. At the ripe age of 41, the 1983 pours a deep gold with a transparent core; medium viscosity with some slight signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of baked stone fruits: peach, apricot, marmalade, hazelnuts, baked lemon, and those gummy peach rings. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and the texture is creamy, buttery. I thought this was a lovely, mature Corton Charlemagne and while it is very much alive, its life-force is fading. Drink now. — 9 days ago
