Lovely wine! Very harmonious IGT from Tuscan hill south of Florence. The blend composition; Sangiovese, Merlot and Cab Sauv., which provides an interesting and unique complexity. Dark cherry, raisins, dates on the nose, pleasant acidity and perfectly balanced. Soft tannins and medium dry. Long but not overly lingering finish. Quick fact this wine is from Sting (the singer) vinyard. Great job! — 2 years ago

CVed 1/26/18. First of three. Nose of red fruits and earth. Palate that's acidic yet silky, good texture and lively. Medium finish. Gordon's $18 good value. Opened 1/12/24! Found in stash, tasting very nicely six years after poke, a record! — 9 years ago
Great wine and only $25. Powerful Super Tuscan filled with earth and leather. Dark chocolate to start with plum, with leather and tobacco to finish. — 10 months ago

Castello di Gabiano ‘Il Ruvo’ Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese 2017: Medium-bodied. Noticeable tannins & lively acidity. Complex aromas with bright fruity taste. Fresh flavors of strawberry, raspberry, cherry, dried herbs, earth & a hint of oak. Velvety long finish. Made from 100% Grignolino grape, a Piemonte grape variety, this wine offered a soft delicate texture yet rich red fruit taste. For me, this was a great find; an exotic northern Italian beauty that does not have as strong of a personality as a Nebbiolo, Barbera or Dolcetto but can stand in its own! Happy Wine Wednesday to all! Cheers🍷 — 4 years ago
14% menu says organic but don’t see it on bottle. Excellent! At Eataly rooftop for my birthday. — 6 years ago
This is Zingaro Old Vine Zinfandel 2014 from Castello di Amorosa - my new favorite winery!!!!! It is a wonderful spicy zin. Not as good as the iL brigante and yet more expensive, but it is a fantastic zinfandel. And Im not talking white zin - not my kind of wine. I hate it when the waiter doesn’t know the difference...
I digress, this has an amazing spicy chocolate beginning turning into a notes of oak and gravel. The finish is long and tart like that of a sour apple yet more on the blackberry dark currant side. It is so delicious!!!!! Give me more, more, more!!!! The difference between this and the IL Brigante is the tart finish. You must have dark chocolate with this one and cheese with the IL Brigante zinfandel. - see previous rating for IL Brigante. — 9 years ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of several hours. The 2018 “Il Rosso delle Donne” pours a garnet color color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with gorgeous notes of fresh raspberry, strawberry, mustard seed, fennel, horse blanket, a touch of truffle, dried green herbs, a mix of organic and inorganic earth and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Giving Pommard vibes…in the best of ways. Drink now with some patience through 2048+. — 6 days ago
